I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 162

Chapter 162

“Alright.”

Thalia didn’t even hesitate to say yes.

Who wants to work for nothing, anyway?

They left the office together and headed down to the underground parking lot.

Clinton said, “My car won’t be ready for pickup for a few more days, so you’ll have to drive me today.”

Een youoties

Thalia shot him a look, eyes slightly wide. “Wait, what? You’re buying me dinner but I still have to be your driver?”

Clinton shrugged helplessly. “Want to just grab a cab then?”

Thalia just stared at him, lost for words.

She shot him a blank look, then said, “Get in.”

Clinton obediently opened the passenger door and got in.

The car soon pulled out of the parking lot.

From behind a big pillar, Miya Coleman stepped out, phone in hand, snapping a photo of what had just happened.

A sly smile curled at her lips as she sent the photo off, having someone deliver it anonymously to Darion Blackburn.

Thalia picked an upscale restaurant on purpose, planning to really milk Clinton for a meal.

Clinton didn’t mind at all. Watching her order up a storm, he just gave a helpless smile and said, “I get it, you’re trying to get your money’s worth, but are you sure you can eat all that?”

Thalia handed the menu to the waiter and said, “If I can’t finish, I’ll just have it packed up to go. Is that okay?”

“Sure, Clinton replied.

Thalia looked at him and asked, “Hey Clinton, didn’t you say Miya was quitting? Why’s she still hanging around the company?”

Clinton shook his head. “No idea. She told me herself that day, but maybe she just changed her mind?”

Thalia lowered her gaze, a trace of mockery flashing in her eyes.

‘Always so dramatic. Who knows what she’s plotting this time, Thalia thought to herself.

“Thalia, are you and Mr. Blackburn not getting along or something?” Clinton asked, giving her a probing look.

“Why do you care?” Thalia shot him a puzzled glance. “Don’t tell me you want to chase after him?”

Clinton was at a loss for words.

After a long pause, Clinton finally blurted out, “I’m straight, okay?”

Chapter 162

“Oh, what a shame. I was getting my hopes up,” Thalia replied with a teasing grin

Clinton got dead silent.

When the food arrived. Thalia picked up her fork and started eating without a hint of awkwardness or fuss. She was so relaxed and confident. It was honestly refreshing to watch.

Clinton kept glancing at her, looking like he had something on his mind but kept holding back.

Thalia caught his eye and said, “Clinton, if you’ve got something to say, just spit it out.”

Clinton cleared his throat. “It’s really nothing, I’m just curious. Mr. Blackburn seems to be into you, but it looks like you two aren’t exactly getting along.”

Thalia replied. “There’s no drama. We’re just about to get divorced, that’s all.”

Clinton looked genuinely surprised. “How did it end up at divorce? Still, whatever you decide, I’ve got your back.”

Thalia looked at him. “Really? You don’t think I’m just being ungrateful?”
