Chapter 171
Darion radiated a chilling, oppressive aura, and Thalia felt an unexplainable weight pressing down on her
Her heart clenched, and her brows drew together. “How did you know?” she asked.
Thalia, don’t tell me you already think he’s special after just a few days,” Darion said, his tone frosty.
Thalia’s face was icy as she retorted, “Then why did you fire him for no reason? What did he do wrong?”
‘He’s getting close to you. Isn’t that already wrong?” Darion stared at her, his voice heavy. “I’ve told you before. I don’t want any other guys around you. Yet here you are, trying to save his job. That really pisses me off.”
An unnamed anger simmered in Thalia’s chest. Laughter and chatter echoed all around, but all she could hear was Darion’s icy warning.
Thalia took deep breaths to steady herself, her fingers curling tight. “You’re such a hypocrite. You bend over backwards to help Miya, but I can’t even have male friends?”
She gave him a mocking smile, her eyes colder and more distant than ever. “The people who get dragged down by me. I can only do so much for them. And you? Taking care of her and Keith, throwing money at auctions, helping with business deals… Darion, you’re a damn bastard.”
They were standing so close that, to anyone watching, it looked like they’re still madly in love.
But only they knew their hearts were growing further apart inside.
Darion acted like he hadn’t heard a thing she said, still gripping her hand so she couldn’t pull away. His face quickly went back to that calm, aloof vibe.
‘Miya’s my sister-in-law, and Keith’s her kid. Of course I’m supposed to help her. But Clinton? He’s got nothing to do with you, and you barely know him. You shouldn’t be getting so close,” Darion said, his voice cold and firm.
He was so domineering and controlling, acting like everything had to go his way.
Thalia was about to lose it.
But just then, the music stopped.
Verena stepped onto the stage with a bright smile, microphone in hand. “Welcome, everyone, to tonight’s party! It’s an honor to have you all here. I hope you’re having a great time. And now, let’s give a warm welcome to the new CEO of Flynn Group, Mr. Sebastian Flynn!”
After a burst of enthusiastic applause, a tall, slender man in a sharp black suit strode onto the stage.
Finally, everyone got to see the eldest son of the Flynn family, who had been keeping a low profile.
He was strikingly handsome, with gentle facial features and a pair of rimless glasses that gave him a gentlemanly demeanor His voice was steady and unhurried, speaking with effortless poise, and he radiated an undeniable air of elegance and privilege.
Thalia stopped resisting. The venue was so quiet that even the slightest sound would stand out.
But tonight, the focus was on the Flynn family’s eldest son, not her.
Thankfully, the dim lighting around her helped mask the cold expression on her face.

Chapter 171
She was still trying to free her hand.
But Darion just pulled her hand down and laced his fingers with hers.
That only made her even more furious.
Suddenly, she yanked his hand up and bit down hard on his wrist.
‘Mm… Thalia let out a muffled sound.
Darion lowered his gaze, frowned at her, and said, “Thalia, are you a dog or something?”
Thalia muttered, “Let go of me. I need to get something to eat. I’m starving.”
