Chapter 179
“Thalia, you look beautiful today,” Darion said, his arm around her shoulders.
He couldn’t take his eyes off her, her delicate figure wrapped in his jacket, that red dress making her look absolutely
stunning.
Thalia kept a frosty expression as she walked ahead. Once she got in the car, she flung the jacket right out the door.
Darion saw it, stooped to pick it up, and asked, “You don’t like this jacket? If you don’t, I’ll never wear it again.”
Then he tossed it straight into the trash.
Thalia shot him a look. “I don’t like you anymore. Can you just not show up in front of me again?”
“Don’t be silly,” Darion said with a smirk, clearly not taking her seriously.
He told the driver to start the car, then reached out and held Thalia’s hand again.
But Thalia pulled away and started playing a game on her phone.
Darion’s eyes grew darker. After the car had been driving for a while, he finally spoke up. “Don’t get too close to Sebastian. Don’t let his act fool you.”
Thalia didn’t even twitch, as if she hadn’t heard him at all.
“Thalia, Darion called.
When she didn’t respond, he was clearly annoyed.
She finally lifted her eyes and shot him a look. “Are you any better?”
Darion felt a suffocating pressure in his chest. Thalia’s icy glare was so piercing, it left him feeling unsettled and uneasy.
“I’d never hurt you. He’s not nearly as innocent as he pretends to be,” Darion said, his voice low and tense.
Thalia kept her eyes glued to her phone screen, completely ignoring him, as if he didn’t even exist.
The car was wrapped in a heavy silence, the chill in the air almost palpable. The driver was so tense, he sat ramrod straight and barely dared to breathe.
Before long, the car pulled up to the apartment complex.
Thalia got out without a word and walked straight into the complex, not even glancing back.
Darion didn’t follow her. He pulled out his phone and called Ryan. “Keep an eye on the Flynn Group. See if they try to contact my wife.”
Ryan replied, “Got it. And if they do?”
Darion stared at the red dress disappearing into the night and said, “Stop them.”
“Got it,” Ryan replied.

“Hey. Thalia darling, where are you?” Wendy was still at the party, had looked everywhere for her and finally decided to call
Thalia tapped her forehead. “Sorry, Wendy, I’m already home.”
Wendy blinked in surprise. “Whoa, you’re home already? Did you run into Sebastian?”
“Yeah, I saw him,” Thalia said, a small smile playing on her lips as she filled Wendy in on what had just happened.
That was probably the happiest thing that happened to her tonight.
