I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 21

Chapter 21 Sandra’s Call

Thalia’s hands clamped down on the steering wheel, her knuckles whitening with the force, her expression grim.

‘He lied to me again!’ Thalia thought bitterly.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Darion’s number, but he didn’t pick up.

Fury surged through her, and she slammed her fist against the steering wheel. She was teetering on the edge of a breakdown.

Her phone rang suddenly, cutting through her turmoil. She glanced at the screen, frowned, and answered,” Hello?”

“Thalia, where are you? Darion needs you!” Jason’s voice was urgent, laced with panic.

Thalia tightened her grip on the steering wheel. “Is he dying?”

Jason paused, then hurriedly explained, “No, he got punished and is badly hurt, unconscious, taken to the hospital. He keeps calling your name. Thalia, you have to come.”

Thalia let out a cold laugh. “Well, let me know when he’s dead.”

With that, she hung up, but her fingers wrapped even tighter around her phone.

Thalia wondered, ‘Why did he get punished? Who was even able to punish him?’

His parents worked for MSF and were rarely ever home. Sandra was advanced in years, and since Emely’s death, Darion had been the sole one in charge of the Blackburn family.

Thalia’s heart plummeted, frustration gnawing at her.

‘He gets hurt right now? When I finally had a shot at getting the divorce done?’ Thalia thought, frustrated.

She drove home, but as she pulled up to the house, her phone rang again. When she found that it was a call from Blackburn Manor, her expression soured.

“Hello?” Thalia answered, her tone sharp and dismissive.

Sandra’s aged voice came through the line. “Darion’s in the hospital. You’re his wife. Go take care of him.”

Thalia let out a cold laugh. “There are plenty of people lining up to take care of him. I doubt I even make the bottom of his list, let alone yours.”

“Stupid girl!” Sandra snapped, her voice trembling with rage. “You’re his wife, Mrs. Thalia Blackburn! Act like it, then no one would dare get close to Darion.

“I tried to keep you two apart, but you were stubborn. Now look at this mess. You really want a divorce? Are you trying to make a fool of yourself and the entire Blackburn family?”

Thalia lowered her gaze, a wry, self-mocking smile playing on her lips.

Once upon a time, they’d done everything to make their marriage work.

When Sandra denied them her blessing, Darion knelt outside the manor, and she stayed with him, neither yielding until Sandra finally gave in.

Even after the wedding, Sandra never truly saw her as a granddaughter-in-law. Thalia tried to be kind, to earn her favor, and Darion did all he could to bridge the gap between them.

At least in the end, Sandra stopped making things hard for her, but she always kept her distance, cold and unapproachable.

Back then, they’d fought so hard for their shared future.

But now, their life was nothing but a broken mess.

“Yeah, I want a divorce,” Thalia said flatly. “You never liked me anyway, so why not tell your grandson to sign the papers? That way, the Blackburn family can have the peace you want, and I won’t have to keep causing

drama for you.”

“Shameful brat!” Sandra scolded, her voice growing even harsher. “Divorce isn’t a joke! When you married Darion, you bound yourself to him forever.

“I’m warning you. I will never let you two divorce. The Blackburn family has never had a divorce, and you won’t be the first to break that tradition!”

Sandra hung up abruptly, seething with anger.

Thalia let out a bitter laugh at how utterly ridiculous the whole situation was.

She thought, ‘Seriously, does she live in the feudal age? Does she really think she can stop a divorce?
