I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 216

Chapter 216

“I’m really sorry about what happened last time. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Sebastian said, his face showing genuine guilt.

Thalia replied. “Yeah, it did freak me out. But who were those people anyway? Did you handle it?”

“Yeah. Sebastian said. “It’s pretty much taken care of. You don’t have to worry about being around me anymore.”

He joked lightly, shifting the conversation without missing a beat.

“When I walked in, I thought you were meeting someone. Turns out you’re dining solo,” Sebastian gave her a puzzled look. “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Thalia thought for a moment before shaking her head. “Not at the moment. Rest assured, if I need anything, I’ll call you.”

Yeah, you haven’t called me yet,” Sebastian said, pulling out his phone. “Why don’t you give me a ring now? I’ll save your

number.”

Thalia was a bit taken aback, but since they were friends, and who knows, she might need his help someday. She figured it made sense.

He’d probably ignore any unknown calls.

So, she nodded, pulled out her phone, and dialed his number.

His phone rang, and Sebastian glanced at it before saving her number.

He grinned, “Now this feels like we’re actually friends.”

Thalia looked puzzled. “Why do you say that?”

Well… I guess I always felt things were a little awkward between us. But now, it feels much more natural,” Sebastian admitted honestly.

Thalia nodded slowly, then asked, “Anything else you want to try?”

‘No, I’m good. This is more than enough,” Sebastian replied.

The food at this restaurant was honestly amazing. Sebastian kept raving about it and said he’d definitely come back again.

When they stepped out of the restaurant together, the sky was already pitch black.

Standing by the curb, Sebastian said, “Let me give you a ride. I’d feel better knowing you’re not walking home alone

Thalia gave him a helpless smile. “Really, you don’t have to worry. We’re in the city. It’s pretty safe here.”

Sebastian paused for a moment before saying, “Is that so? But last time there was still that unexpected attack”

“Uh…” Thalia hesitated, then said, “That was just an accident.”

She moved toward the curb, and a motorcycle suddenly sped by from behind.

As it passed, the rider went for her bag.

Sebastian grabbed her and pulled her into his arms, keeping the thief from snatching her bag

Chapter 216

The motorcycle sped off

Thalia was startled.

Sebastian’s voice carried a wry note. “See? It’s really not as safe as you think.”

Thalia just stared at him, lost for words.

“Yeah, that was actually pretty scary. Thalia thought.

She didn’t argue and got into his car.

Sebastian glanced at her, choosing his words carefully. “The Coleman Group has been pretty unstable lately. Are you… doing okay?”

Her lashes fluttered as she remembered just how ruthless Darion could be.
