Chapter 220
Thalia pulled out her phone and saw it was Matthew calling.
“Hello?” Thalia answered.
She walked out onto the balcony and answered the call.

Matthew’s voice came through, with a hint of a smile in his tone. “The court will be reaching out to you in a few days for mediation. Just wanted you to be prepared.”
Thalia had already braced herself for this.
She gripped her phone tightly and asked, “Is there a real chance we might lose?”
“It’s quite possible,” Matthew sighed. “But you can’t just assume the worst. What if we actually win?”
Thalia still felt uneasy, but there was nothing else she could do. “Okay, I get it. Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it,” Matthew chuckled. “Just remember to tip your lawyer generously.”
Thalia let out a small laugh. “Alright.”
After hanging up. Thalia turned to the agent and said, “I’ll take this one.”
The place was fully renovated and move-in ready.
She’d come by in the afternoon, but since she couldn’t take care of the paperwork until tomorrow, she arranged to meet the agent again then.
Sebastian had been standing nearby, waiting for her to finish up with the agent. Once she was done, he asked, “Got any plans later?”
“Yeah, I took some time off to come here,” Thalia nodded. “I still have to get back to work.”
Sebastian gave a wry smile. “I was hoping if you were free, we could grab a bite. That restaurant is really good. I’ve been wanting to go back.”
Thalia said, “Then go ahead. You can bring your friends.”
“Truth be told,” Sebastian pushed up his glasses, “you’re the first friend I’ve made since I came back.”
Thalia looked even more surprised. “What about before you went overseas?”
“I lost touch with them ages ago, Sebastian shrugged. “Doesn’t that make me kind of pathetic?”
Thalia shook her head. “That’s just because you never really tried to make friends. If you wanted to, I’m sure plenty of people would be happy to hang out with you.”
Sebastian shook his head with a smile. “Honestly, it’s tough to find people these days who want to hang out without any strings attached.
He smiled at her, his gaze lingering. “That’s why I think you’re really special.”
‘Did he just compliment me?’ Thalia felt a bit shy, and something unfamiliar stirred inside her.

Just then, Verena’s voice cut through the air. She walked over, shooting Thalia a suspicious look. “What are you two doing together?’
Sebastian replied. “Thalia’s my friend. Did you need something?”
Verena raised an eyebrow. Thalia?”
Wow, they’re awfully close, she thought with a hint of sarcasm.
Verena handed him a stack of papers. “You need to take a look at these.”
After a pause, she said. “Sebastian, you really ought to be careful about who you call your friends. Getting mixed up with the wrong people could spell trouble.”
Thalia shot her a look, her brows knitting together. “Do you have a problem with me?”
