Verena forced herself to keep her cool and scoffed, “You only act tough because Darion Blackburn is backing you up. Without him, you’d be nothing.”
Thalia gave her a chilly stare. “So, got any tricks to make him disappear from my life sooner? Honestly, he’s really starting to annoy me.”
Verena fell silent, unable to retort.
Ugh, she’s infuriating!’ Verena raged inwardly.
Just then, Sebastian spoke up. “Alright, come with me.”
Verena shot Thalia a venomous glare before storming off.
Thalia headed back to the office and spent another two hours in the recording studio. By the time she finally stepped out, the sky had already turned pitch black.
Someone was sitting at her desk.
Her expression darkened as she stopped a few meters away, refusing to get any closer.
‘Still working late? Hungry?” Darion asked, putting his phone away as he got up from her desk.
Darion Blackburn put his phone away and walked toward her.
‘Don’t come any closer!” Thalia warned, backing away, her eyes wary and guarded.
Thalia stepped back, her gaze wary and guarded.
Her wary gaze was like a dagger, stabbing straight into Darion’s heart.
He froze, his sharp, dark eyes fixed on her.
Thalia, are you avoiding me?” Darion asked, his voice deep and tense.
Shouldn’t I be keeping my distance from you?” Thalia said, her guard up. “You never care about what I think, and those wisted thoughts of yours… Honestly, I wish you’d just vanish from my life!”
Darion chuckled quietly. “Afraid that’s not going to happen.”
He strode toward her.
Thalia felt a chill run down her spine as she circled the desk, keeping him at arm’s length.
Her evasive move seemed to really get under his skin.
Darion stood across from her, his gaze landing on the desk, as if thinking maybe flipping it over would make things easier
Thalia, there’s no way you can get away from me, Darion said, his voice low and steady as he slowly closed the distance between them. “Why waste your energy?”
Thalia’s palms were slick with cold sweat, her heart tightened with dread. She was completely lost, not knowing how to break free from this situation.

Chapter 221
“Darion, I’m really tired I just want to go home and rest. Can you please stop pestering me?” Thalia’s voice softened a bit
Whenever she tried to stand her ground against him, she always ended up losing.
“Let me drive you home,” Darion offered.
Thalia wanted to say no, but ended up nodding. “Okay.”
This time, she didn’t try to avoid him.
As long as he didn’t go crazy or try to force anything on her, she’d just play along for now.
Once she moved out, she’d finally be free.
As they stepped into the elevator, the space felt suffocating. His presence seemed to fill every corner, enveloping her from all sides.
Darion instantly picked up on her tension. She was still wary of him.
His handsome brows furrowed. ‘We’re husband and wife… How did it come to this?’ he couldn’t help but wonder.
He reached for her hand.
But Thalia, anticipating his move, pulled out her phone to text, dodging his reach.
Her actions were so deliberate that Darion gave her a hard stare, clear annoyance in his eyes.
But he didn’t push it. He just stood there beside her.
