I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 223

Chapter 223

Thalia once again felt that suffocating grip around her neck.

She reached up to touch her neck, a sudden wave of disorientation washing over her.

She looked at the calm, domineering man ahead, her heart filled with endless sorrow.

She didn’t have the strength to fight back.

She could only slink after him, feeling utterly defeated.

Looking back, all her struggles felt like she was just barely hanging on, scraping by with no real hope, Thalia thought.

How pathetic,’ she told herself. ‘It’s almost laughable.’

Thalia’s eyes dropped, her lashes quivering every so often.

When they stepped into the elevator, Thalia retreated to the corner, looking as if the rain had seeped into her bones, drenched in gloom, with a shadow hanging over her.

Darion watched her, his brows furrowing tightly, and the tension in the air seemed to thicken around him.

When the elevator doors slid open, he walked out, and Thalia followed behind him with numb indifference.

Thalia unlocked the door with her fingerprint and stepped inside. Just then, Darion’s phone started ringing.

He pulled out his phone and answered the call.

‘Hello?” he said.

Thalia was close enough to catch the voice on the other end. She thought it was Helen, and Helen sounded anxious, saying something urgently.

Okay, I’m on my way,” Darion replied.

Darion gave a quick response and hung up.

He lifted his gaze, fixing it on Thalia.

When she realized he was about to leave, the shadow over her seemed to fade, and for a moment, she looked lighter, almost radiant.

She really doesn’t want to be around me, Darion thought.

Darion gripped his phone tightly, his voice flat. “I’ll have the hotel send up your dinner. Don’t order takeout.”

Thalia replied with a quiet, indifferent “Okay.”

Darion turned to press the elevator button, his gaze lingering on her. “Thalia, is there really nothing you want to say to me?”

The only response he got was the bang of the door closing behind him.

Darion’s expression clouded over, but just then, the elevator doors opened. He tore his gaze away from Thalia and stepped

inside.

Chapter 223

Keith had gotten hurt.

He’d accidentally dropped a glass, and shards got lodged in his foot.

He was crying, calling out for Darry.

By the time they got to the hospital, the glass shards had already been removed from his foot.

But the pain was still fresh, and tears clung to his lashes as he cried, looking utterly pitiful.

‘Darry.” Keith called out.

As soon as he saw Darry, Keith immediately reached out for him.

Darion stepped forward, scooping him up into his arms, and turned to Helen Blackburn. “Mom, what happened?”

Helen Blackburn replied, “It was just an accident. The nanny was playing with him, and he accidentally knocked over a glass. He lost his balance and stepped right onto the shards.”

She looked helpless. She’d only been away for a moment, and this was what happened.

Darion looked down at Keith, who was crying, looking so miserable as he clung to Darion’s shirt. “Darry, where’s my mom? I miss my mom,” he whispered.

He hadn’t seen his mom in days.

Darion gently said, “How about letting Grandma and Great-Grandma keep you company from now on?”
