Helen looked at Darion with a complicated expression. “So, you’re done going after the Colemans now?”
Darion glanced up at her. “What exactly are you trying to say?”
“Would you even listen if I did say something?” Helen shot back, clearly annoyed. “The Colemans are Thalia’s family If you keep this up, how is she supposed to face her parents later on?”
Darion replied, “Trenton hit her.”
Helen was momentarily speechless, then said, “It’s still between father and daughter. You really didn’t have to blow things up like this.”
“Mom, it’s already over. There’s no point in talking about it now,” Darion said, his tone calm.
But Helen could sense he was losing patience.
So Helen decided to keep quiet and didn’t say anything more.
With Darion by his side, Keith quickly calmed down and drifted off to sleep in Darion’s embrace.
Darion placed Keith on the hospital bed, then got up and left the room.
He drove to the hospital where Miya was admitted.
The bodyguard standing outside the room saw him and addressed him respectfully, “Mr. Blackburn.”
“Mm,” Darion just nodded.
He pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Miya looked genuinely surprised to see him. “Darion, it’s so late. Is there something you need?”
Darion said calmly, “Tomorrow, you should head back to the Blackburn residence and get some rest.”
Miya’s eyes flickered. “Honestly, I’m not too comfortable going back. Given my situation, it’d feel pretty awkward.”
“Awkward? You’re Keith’s mother. No one would dare say anything,” Darion replied, his face unreadable. “Unless you’ve got something to hide.”
“Not at all,” Miya said, forcing a smile. “I’ll do as you say.”
Darion nodded. ‘I’m having people manage the company for you right now. Once you’re recovered, you can start working there and learn the ropes of running a business.”
Miya hesitated, then said, “But I still have my own job…”
“That job isn’t right for you,” Darion cut her off, his tone final. He’d already made plans for her future
Miya looked at him and asked, “So you’re afraid if I see Lia again, something else might go wrong?”
Darion replied, “If this keeps up, Keith’s not going to have a mom anymore.”
Miya instinctively avoided his gaze, feeling like he could see right through her.

She clutched the blanket tightly, her voice hesitant. “Lia and I… I don’t think we can ever make things right. I don’t even know how we ended up like this. Darion, do you blame me for it?”
She gave a bitter smile. “I’ve never hurt her, and there was never anything between us. But if Lia doesn’t like me, then maybe it really is my fault.”
Darion frowned slightly. “Miya, don’t overthink it. Just get some rest.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the room.
Miya’s expression turned grim..
