Thalia’s breath hitched. She looked up at him with a steady gaze and said calmly. “How would you know if you don’t give it a

shot

She was dead set on getting a divorce.

Darion’s eyes grew even darker, his cold aura intensifying until the whole room felt heavy and oppressive.

He stood up and strode toward her.

As he drew closer, the tension in the air ramped up, making the oppressive feeling even stronger.

“Thalia, I’m really not happy about what you’re doing.” Darion said, his expression calm and steady.

Thalia’s fingers tightened, but she stayed composed. “So, what are you going to do about it?” she asked.

Darion gave a slight smile. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

He walked past her and left the conference room.

‘Why do I suddenly feel so uneasy?’ Thalia thought, a sense of dread creeping into her heart.

But she’d come this far. If she gave up now just because of one threat from Darion, wouldn’t everything she’d fought for be wasted?

Thalia gritted her teeth, swallowing her anxiety and pushing the unease aside.

She returned downstairs and continued working.

Wesley noticed her pale face and frowned. “What’s wrong? You seem really out of it today.”

“Maybe I just didn’t get enough sleep,” Thalia replied.

Wesley frowned, clearly annoyed. “I’ve warned you more than once. Don’t let your personal problems affect your work. If this keeps happening, I’ll find someone else.”

Thalia took a deep breath. “I’ll pull myself together.”

Wesley waved her off. “That’s enough, just go. You don’t need to come in this afternoon.”

Thalia was taken aback.

But Wesley had already turned and walked away.

‘He acts tough, but he’s got a soft heart, Thalia thought.

Feeling a little warmth in her heart, she packed up her things and left.

She went home to move out. She hired a professional organizer to pack up her things and called some movers to handle the heavy lifting. By evening, everything was settled in Maplewood Estate.

The organizer took care of unpacking and arranging everything, so Thalia didn’t have to lift a finger.

She also hired a cleaning service to give the whole place a thorough scrub.

Once everyone had left. Thalia sat down on the couch and gazed at her new home The tight string in her heart finally loosened a bit

She let out a long breath, grabbed her phone, and ordered some takeout

Just then, her phone rang. It was Jason Campbell.

Thalia frowned and hung up without a second thought.

Jason Campbell and Darion were thick as thieves. If he was calling, it was probably just another trick.

You can’t trust a liar, Thalia thought.

But Jason called again, this time sounding even more desperate.

Thalia answered, clearly annoyed. “Yeah? What now?”

“Thalia, something’s happened! It’s serious. Someone could die! You have to come, quick!” Jason’s voice was frantic. “It’s Matthew. Darion dragged him out for drinks and won’t stop pouring him alcohol. Matthew’s about to pass out. He could die!”

Thalja shot to her feet, her face ashen as she hurried out. “Where are you?”

“Blue Night,” came Jason’s urgent reply.
