Chapter 253
Trenton didn’t try to keep them. He simply said, “Take care on your way.”
He just stood in the living room and exchanged a few words, but didn’t actually walk them out
Thalia and Diana left the Coleman residence together.

In the car, Diana sat quietly, staring out the window. Thalia felt as if the wrinkles at the corners of her grandmother’s eyes had deepened overnight.
Thalia’s heart ached for Diana, and she felt a wave of sadness wash over her.
“Grandma…” Thalia called softly.
“Thalia, none of this has anything to do with you.” Diana’s voice was gentle and full of warmth. “Don’t think about it, and don’t get involved.”
Thalia gripped the steering wheel, hesitated for a moment, then said, “She wants to take the earrings back to give them to Miya, the adopted daughter she brought home.”
Diana glanced at her. “Is that girl still living with the Colemans?”
“Yeah.” Thalia nodded.
Diana let out a soft sigh. “She failed as a daughter, and she failed as a mother.”
Diana’s words were always spot-on.
Thalia didn’t say anything more.
She took Diana out for a meal. Diana didn’t have much of an appetite, but Thalia coaxed her into eating a little.
Afterward, they returned to Maplewood Estate to rest.
Thalia closed the guest room door and made her way to the study.
She hadn’t gone to work today, and Wesley kept texting her, grumbling about her absence.
So, she settled in the study and recorded a few episodes to send over.
By the time she finally came out, three hours had already passed.
She walked up to the guest room door and knocked. “Grandma?”
“Yeah?”
Diana’s voice came from inside.
Thalia pushed the door open and stepped inside. Diana was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding the sapphire earrings in her hands, absently gazing at them.
Thalia walked over and sat down beside her “Grandma, what are you thinking about?”
Diana closed the lid and said, “Honestly, I don’t even like sapphires. I’ve always preferred emeralds. But after all these years,

he only ever gave me this one pair of earrings.”
Hearing that. Thalia’s heart ached for her grandmother.
Thalia thought, ‘Grandma’s not blind to it.
She must’ve known all along that her husband’s heart was never really hers.
She was just fooling herself, pretending not to see the truth.
Diana looked at her. “Thalia, if your marriage isn’t making you happy, just walk away. Don’t ever let yourself suffer for anyone.”
‘I won’t,” Thalia said, nodding firmly. “Grandma, I’ll make sure I’m okay.”
Diana smiled. “That’s good.”
She put the box in Thalia’s hands. “This is yours now. If you don’t want it, you can sell it. It’s worth quite a bit.”
Sure.” Thalia replied.
Thalja nodded. “I’ll make sure to keep it safe.”
Diana said, “I’m leaving tomorrow.”
Thalia felt reluctant to let her go, but seeing how unhappy Diana was here, she didn’t ask her to stay. “I’ll come find you when I’m done with everything.”
Alright, I’ll be waiting for you,” Diana replied.
The two sat close together, the golden sunset casting a gentle warmth across the room.
That evening, Thalia had dinner delivered from a hotel.
Out of the blue, Helen Blackburn showed up.
Helen walked in with a gift, her face lit up with a big smile. “Mrs. Coleman, I’m Thalia’s mother-in-law, Helen Blackburn. Do ‘ou remember me from before?”
Thalia felt a bit unsettled by Helen’s unexpected visit.
Diana smiled and nodded. “I remember you. You’re with MSF. That’s really impressive.”
felen handed over the gift. “Thalia, this is just a little something from me. Please keep it for your grandma. Supplements are good for her health.”
Thalia took the gift. “Thanks, Mom.”
Don’t be so polite with me, Helen said with a warm smile, settling herself next to Diana. “Ma’am, Thalia really looks up to ou. If you say something, she’ll definitely listen. I wanted to have a word with you.”
