Chapter 256
Chapter 256
Thalia was speechless.
‘Darion’s grandmother sure is planning far ahead. Thalia thought.
She and Darion weren’t even divorced yet.
Getting into a new relationship was the last thing on her mind right now.
She was already exhausted from her last relationship. How could she possibly have the energy to start another?

When she got home, she spent some time watching TV with Darion’s grandmother, then washed up and went to bed.
In the middle of the night, her phone suddenly rang.
Half-asleep, she answered without checking the caller ID.
“Hello?” she mumbled.
“Thalia.”
On the other end of the line, a deep, husky voice called her name, full of lingering affection.
Thalia frowned and muttered, “What a lunatic.”
She hung up.
But before long, the phone rang again.
Thalia was so fed up she couldn’t get any sleep, so she just switched off her phone.
At Blue Night.
The private room was dimly lit, with bottles scattered across the table. Jason nervously watched Darion, who was holding his phone and looking dazed.
Jason swallowed nervously and said. “Darion. it’s getting late. Maybe you should… go home?”
Darion kept his eyes fixed on his phone, listening to the automated message telling him the number was switched off. He :losed his eyes.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the dim light, his face looked even more clouded, as if shrouded in gloom.
Go home?
Where do I even have a home now?’ he thought bitterly.
He set his phone down and grabbed the bottle, pouring himself another drink.
Jason, worried Darion might drink himself into trouble, tried to persuade him. “Darion, you’ve had enough. Why don’t you just go home?
‘Hey, tell me… Darion looked at him, his voice slow and heavy. “If I drank myself sick like Matthew did, do you think she’d
come see me?”

Jason was speechless.
Fat chance, Jason thought.
To be honest, Thalia would probably be happy if you just dropped dead…
But there was no way he’d ever say that out loud.

Jason’s eyes flickered. “Honestly… why not just agree to whatever Thalia wants for now? You two have so much history. If you chase after her again and let her see how much you care, maybe she’ll come back to you.”
‘No way,” Darion said, his brows furrowing.
‘I didn’t cheat. I still love her. Why should I have to jump through hoops for her?”
She was always the one misunderstanding me.
He grabbed his glass and knocked back the whole drink in one go.
Jason just stared, speechless.
Yeah, they were totally stuck.
Thalia wants out, Darion’s holding on for dear life.
Seriously, there’s just no fixing this,’ Jason thought with a sigh.
At three in the morning, Thalia was jolted awake by her phone ringing. She was so annoyed she could barely see straight.
She’d just managed to fall asleep, and now she was being woken up again. Anyone would be furious.
But when she saw the caller ID, she froze.
911?
She shot up in bed, ran a hand through her hair, and answered the phone. “Hello?”
‘Hello, is this Thalia?” the voice on the other end asked.
“Yes, this is Thalia,” she replied, her heart pounding. “Is something wrong?”
“Your husband is here at the police station. He says he can’t find his way home. Could you come pick him up?” the officer
asked.
Thalia was speechless.
She was cursing up a storm in her head.
