Chapter 257
Early in the morning. Thalia stepped out of her room with dark circles under her eyes.
Diana couldn’t help but laugh when she saw her.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong? Didn’t sleep well?” Diana asked.

Thalia walked over and hugged Diana, letting out a couple of whiny, affectionate noises before saying. I had nightmares all night.”
With Darion pestering me nonstop, how could I not have nightmares?’ Thalia grumbled to herself.
Diana smiled and affectionately ruffled Thalia’s hair. “Why don’t you go back to bed for a bit?”
“No,” Thalia replied, keeping her eyes closed. “Since you’re leaving, I want to see you off at the airport.”
“Then let me make you some breakfast,” Diana said.
Thalia didn’t refuse.
She loved Diana’s cooking. She went to freshen up, and when she came out, she’d put on makeup, making sure not a trace of exhaustion showed on her face.
Diana was steadying herself by the stove, eyes closed, looking as if she was worn out.
‘Grandma, do I look pretty?” Thalia asked.
Hearing her voice, Diana turned and smiled warmly. “Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. My precious girl is the prettiest of all.”
Thalia grinned and snuggled up to Diana, clinging to her like a little koala.
Diana’s eyes flickered for a moment before she said, “Alright, let’s eat.”
“Okay, Thalia replied.
When breakfast was served, Thalia ate heartily, feeling completely satisfied but also deeply reluctant to let go.
She didn’t want her grandma to leave, not even a little bit.
Diana kept smiling at her with gentle affection, watching Thalia as if she could never get enough of her precious granddaughter.
Before she turned ten, Thalia hardly ever went to her grandma’s house, since Shyla and Diana had a pretty distant relationship.
After Miya moved in with the Coleman family, every time Miya blamed her for things she didn’t do, Thalia would get so upset she’d just run off to her grandma’s place all by herself.
The ridiculous part was, the first time she ran away, she’d already been staying at her grandma’s house for over ten days before Trenton and Shyla even realized she was gone. They started freaking out and looking all over for her.
After that, Thalia was always hanging out at her grandma’s place. She even spent her winter and summer vacations there.
Thalia pushed down her reluctance and carefully packed all sorts of things for Diana, wanting to make sure her grandma would be comfortable on the trip. She included earplugs in case the flight got noisy, and tucked in some snacks so Diana 1/3

wouldn’t go hungry.
She even loaded up the tablet with TV shows, making sure Diana would have something fun to watch and wouldn’t get bored on the plane.
Once everything was set, the two of them headed out together.
But as soon as they got downstairs, they saw a Rolls-Royce Phantom parked by the curb. Next to it stood a man, tall, good- looking, and with a gentle, relaxed vibe.
Darion called out, “Grandma.”
He stepped forward and took the bag from Diana like it was the most natural thing in the world. “Let me take you to the airport,” he said.
Diana’s eyes flickered with mixed emotions as she looked at him, but she didn’t say no. “Alright.”
Thalia couldn’t help but furrow her brows, but with the divorce at such a critical stage, she didn’t want to get on Darion’s bad side.
She slipped into the back seat and stayed completely silent.
Diana, meanwhile, started asking Darion about how he’d been lately, her gentle, caring tone making the whole atmosphere feel cozy.
When they got to the airport and reached the security checkpoint, Thalia hugged Diana tightly, clinging to her and feeling reluctant to let go..
“Grandma, wait for me, okay? I’ll come find you,” Thalia said, her voice full of longing.
