Chapter 264
Darion’s frown cased a little, and his tone softened. “Keith, is something bothering you?”
‘Darry, are you coming home?” Keith asked.
His voice was small and hesitant, words coming out in fits and starts.
‘Darry, I miss you,” Keith said.

Darion replied, “I’m not coming home tonight. It’s late. You need to go to bed early and listen to your great-grandma, grandma, and mom.”
‘But I miss you, Darry…” Keith insisted, his voice soft but stubborn. “Can you come home and keep me company?”
“No,” Darion said firmly.
He didn’t hesitate. “You’ve got your great-grandma, grandma, and mom with you. I’m staying with Tally tonight.”
Keith went quiet.
After a moment, there was some shuffling on the other end, and then Helen’s voice came through, sounding a bit exasperated. “Keith really misses you. You haven’t been home for days, and he just wants to see you.”
Darion raised an eyebrow. “Mom, is it really him missing me, or are you just tired of looking after him?”
‘Don’t be ridiculous!” Helen snapped. “He’s my grandson. Of course I want to look after him.”
“Then why did you let him use your phone to call me?” Darion scoffed. “Mom, if you miss Dad and want to go see him, just say so.”
“You little troublemaker,” Helen grumbled.
‘And you still have the nerve to joke with me? Even your wife doesn’t want you anymore!”
With that, she hung up on him.
Darion was left speechless.
His face darkened as he put his phone away. When he looked up, he met Thalia’s gaze, clouded with disappointment.
In a calm voice, he said, “I’m not leaving.”
Thalia was curled up on the small bed, fast asleep.
Darion sat in the chair, quietly studying her. She was so tired she didn’t even notice.
The next day, her grandmother Diana woke up, but after the brain tumor surgery, her speech was slurred and her mind was still hazy.
Thalia leaned close and whispered softly in her ear, “Grandma, everything’s fine now. Just rest, I’ll take care of you
Her grandmother blinked, then soon fell back asleep.

Thalia stayed at the hospital, taking care of her grandmother for three days. On the fourth day. Wesley walked in, carrying a gift bag.
Thalia was surprised to see him.
“Wesley, what are you doing here?” she asked.
Wesley said. “Just came by to check on your grandma. She’s doing pretty well, isn’t she?”
“Yeah, she’s a little better every day,” Thalia replied with a nod.
Wesley asked, “So, when are you coming back to work? The producers have been hounding me every day.”
He’s so stressed, he’s losing hair by the handful.
Thalia said, “I still need to take care of my grandma for a bit longer…”
Wesley shook his head, exasperated. “Come on, you’re loaded. Why not just hire a few more caregivers?”
