Chapter 29 Bad Woman

Trenton and Shyla were both stunned speechless by his words.

Trenton locked his gaze on Darion, his expression growing increasingly somber. “What do you mean?”

Darion’s eyes remained fixed on Thalia’s cheek, where a clear, red handprint stood out starkly against her pale skin. A storm raged in his eyes, and his voice turned even harsher.

“My grandma needs to rest,” he said, his words leaving no room for argument.

He turned to them, his gaze holding a long, meaningful weight. “You should all head home for the time being.”

‘Is he kicking us out?’ Trenton thought, his irritation spiking.

They’d rushed over the moment they heard Sandra was hospitalized, and now they were being dismissed just like that.

Trenton’s face darkened further. He let out a cold snort, waved a hand dismissively, and stormed off without

another word.

Shyla stepped forward, her face etched with sympathy as she looked at Thalia. “Thalia, put some ice on your cheek. Your dad was just too angry. Once he calms down, he’ll surely regret it.”

Thalia kept her eyes down, her long lashes trembling. Before anyone could react, she suddenly lunged at Miya and delivered a sharp, hard slap to her face.

Miya let out a startled cry, pressing a hand to her cheek.

“Mommy! Bad woman! You hit Mommy! Bad woman!” Keith yelled in outrage as he rushed straight toward Thalia.

As a three-year-old, his collision with Thalia didn’t cause her any pain. But Thalia recoiled instinctively, not wanting him to touch her.

Keith stumbled, fell hard to the floor, and erupted into ear-splitting sobs.

“Wahhh! Bad woman! You hit Mommy! You hit me! Wahhh! Bad woman!” he wailed.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Before anyone could react, the hospital ward was already in utter chaos.

Shyla immediately shoved Thalia hard, her voice laced with sharp reproach. “What’s wrong with you? Why would you hit your sister?”

She then rushed over to Miya, her face overflowing with concern. “Miya, does it hurt? Come on, let’s go find the doctor and get you some ice.”

Miya’s tears streamed down her face as she spoke in a gentle, wounded tone. “Mom, I’m fine, really. It doesn’t hurt. Thalia was just upset, I understand. If slapping me makes her feel better, I’m okay with it.”

Shyla felt even more distraught, fixing Thalia with a sharp, reproachful look. “Thalia, say sorry to Miya.” Miya wept quietly in Shyla’s embrace, while Darion picked up Keith, who was still bawling, his little finger pointed accusingly at Thalia.

Thalia stood alone on the sidelines, as if a clear divide separated her from the others.

She watched the absurd scene unfold, a cold, amused smile tugging at her lips.

She kept stepping back, her eyes swirling with anguish and heartbreak, her cheek throbbing with stinging pain.

The ache in her chest was far worse. It was so intense that it made her body tremble.

At that moment, Darion spoke up again, his tone cutting like a knife. “Why did you slap her?”

Thalia wiped her face, shooting him a fierce glare. “Did you forget? I told you. If you keep refusing to divorce me, every time I see her, I’ll make her suffer.”

She turned her gaze to Keith, her tone menacing. “If you keep crying, I’ll take you away, and you’ll never see
