Chapter 30 Be Locked Up
Hidden deep within the Coleman villa’s garden was an old storage shed, little more than a place to stack useless junk.
Yet after Thalia turned ten, it became her personal prison, where she was locked every time she was disciplined.
No one else had ever been confined there. Only her.
Everything started when she was ten, the day her parents brought Miya home.
Miya was two years her senior. Back then, Shyla smiled gently and said, “Thalia, you’ve always wanted a sister, haven’t you? From now on, Miya will be your sister.”
Thalia was overjoyed, nodding her head vigorously. “Sure!”
She gave Miya all her most beloved toys and insisted they play together.
She’d always envied children with siblings, and now she finally had one.
But just a few days later, Miya was playing on the swing when Thalia ran over to join her. Without warning, Miya tumbled off.
At that exact moment, Trenton walked by. Miya sobbed softly, “Thalia didn’t mean it… I’m really okay…”
Trenton immediately flew into a rage and shouted at Thalia.
‘I didn’t do anything. I never pushed her, not even once, Thalia thought.
A few days later, Thalia and Miya were walking down the stairs together, with Miya in front, Thalia right behind her.
Without warning, Miya suddenly stumbled and tumbled down the steps.
Thalia froze, completely dumbfounded.
Then Miya looked up at her, tears pouring down her cheeks. “Why did you push me, Lia? It hurts…” she sobbed, her voice twisting the truth to make Thalia out to be the villain.
And just like that, Thalia was locked in the old storage.
Her parents took turns lecturing her, and as punishment, Trenton hit her for the first time in her life. She was overcome with grievance. Because she had never pushed Miya, not even accidentally.
She was stubborn, refusing to confess to a crime she hadn’t committed. So they kept her locked away for three days. When she was finally released, she was so hungry her vision swam, barely able to see clearly.
In that moment, Thalia saw Miya for what she really was: a skilled liar. She stopped playing with Miya, keeping her distance from then on.
After that, the old storage became her frequent prison, and her parents’ attention turned more and more to Miya.
By now, Thalia was so used to being locked up in the old storage shed that she could settle in effortlessly, making herself at ease.
And as always, it was all thanks to Miya.
Thalia lifted her gaze to the window, the square pane trapping a small sliver of sky.
Her eyes were clouded with bitterness and heartbreak.
Ever since she was ten, whenever Miya wove another lie, Thalia had tried to rip off her mask, to reveal the real Miya to their parents.
But she had obviously failed.
Now, even the person she loved most had sided with Miya, leaving her completely alone.
Lost in a jumble of painful thoughts, Thalia drifted off.

Chapter 30 Be Locked Up
She had no idea how long she’d been asleep, but when a sudden icy coldness pressed against her cheek, she shivered and blinked awake.
Darion was there, gently holding an ice pack to her swollen cheek.
Thalia pushed him away roughly, sat up straight, and fixed him with a frosty, venomous glare. “Quit pretending. Doesn’t this act make you sick?”
Darion’s sharp brows furrowed as the ice in his hand began to melt, droplets sliding down his fingers. Catching the unyielding stubbornness in her eyes, he let out a helpless sigh. “Thalia, you shouldn’t have hit her.”
Thalia scoffed. “It was just the start. Next time I see her, I’ll slap her even harder. If you care about her that much, why don’t you divorce me?”
She lifted her chin defiantly. “Once we’re divorced, you can coddle and protect her all you want. I won’t even have the chance to bully her anymore.”
“I’m not taking her side,” Darion said quietly. “It’s you I’m worried about. You hit her, and now you’re the one stuck in here. Was it really worth it?”
Thalia’s lashes quivered, the hurt inside her almost bursting out, but she forced a nonchalant expression.
“I’m used to it,” she said, shrugging casually as if it didn’t hurt.
She met his eyes. “Darion, if you’re really worried about me, do divorce me.”
