“How could two living people just disappear without leaving a single trace?” Thalia’s expression grew thoughtful. “Either they were living overseas, or someone wiped out every sign of their existence on purpose.”
But why would anyone want to erase all traces of Miya’s parents?
What kind of work did they do?
How did they end up dying?
Could it have anything to do with Trenton Coleman and his wife?
And why were Trenton Coleman and his wife so partial to Miya?
Thalia was dying to know.
She turned to Dax and said, “Try to find as many clues as you can about Miya’s parents. I just want to know what really went down between her parents and Trenton Coleman and his wife.”
Dax nodded. “Got it.”
After downing another bowl of water, he finally stood up and left.
But Thalia didn’t leave. She stayed in the coffee room, finishing off the whole pot of coffee. Her mind was a total mess.
Her thoughts bounced back and forth, sometimes about Miya’s parents, sometimes about the stuff Dax said regarding Matthew Evans.
She rubbed her temples, trying to clear her head.
Could Matthew Evans have anything to do with the attack on me?
But how could that even be possible?’ she thought.
He was still helping her.
If it weren’t for Matthew Evans, Darion would still be holding Diana’s surgery over her head to force her to stay married.
How could Matthew Evans possibly want to kill me?
That guess probably doesn’t make sense.
‘Maybe it’s all just a coincidence.
Foreigners… Thalia mused.
She had no idea that her identity had attracted the interest of people from outside the country.
Now, she was genuinely curious, what was it about her that made her so special?
It was getting late, so Thalia left the coffee room.
After those incidents, she always circled her car, making sure no one suspicious was lurking around before getting un.

As soon as she sat in the driver’s seat, her phone buzzed. She glanced at the unknown number, read the message, and her face stayed blank as she deleted it right away.
[Hey Thalia, why’d you block me?]
Only Darion would send something like that.
‘He already knows I blocked him, so what’s the point of asking? Isn’t that just dumb?’ Thalia thought.
The next few days were a blur of work. With her project nearing completion, she was pulling late nights at the office.
Diana was getting better by the day. In the past few days, she was even able to get up and walk around on her own.
That evening, Trenton Coleman called her.
His tone was gentle. “Thalia, are you coming home for dinner tonight?”
“No,” Thalia replied coolly. “Don’t put on this act. It’s way too fake. I’m not going after the Coleman Group anymore because Diana talked to me a lot. As long as you leave me alone, I won’t do anything to you.”
She meant it.
She’d already told her associate Zane to stop targeting the Coleman Group.
