After dinner, Thalia showed no sign of leaving. Helen kept her company, chatting away like it was the most ordinary thing in the world.
Darion sat off to the side, rubbing his temples. A slow, smoldering heat started to build in his lower abdomen, seeping in gradually, just like the feeling he always got when he was with Thalia.
His gaze drifted over to her, lingering on her face before tracing down the curves of her body.
They were husband and wife. Whatever they did together was perfectly normal.
His voice was a little rough. “Thalia, my shoulder’s feeling uncomfortable. Can you check it for me?”
Helen gently patted Thalia’s hand. “Go ahead. Darion got hurt for your sake. You should see if he’s healing alright.”
“Okay,” Thalia said.
Thalia didn’t hesitate. She stood up, walked over to him, and leaned in to gently take his arm.
Darion rose smoothly with her, then wrapped his arm around her waist without hesitation.
His broad palm settled against her side, its warmth radiating through the fabric of her clothes.
Thalia suddenly realized, the soup he drank was kicking in.
She cast her eyes down and made her way upstairs.
Their room was upstairs on the second floor. Thanks to Sandra’s presence, Thalia rarely stayed overnight at Blackburn Manor.
She still wasn’t used to their wedding suite here. It all felt a bit unfamiliar.
As she opened the door, Darion’s heated breath washed over her cheek.
His lips pressed softly against hers. “Thalia…”
He murmured her name, his voice husky and lingering.
Thalia said, “Oh, I just remembered. I forgot your gift downstairs. Wait here, I’ll go grab it.”
But Darion held her tight, not letting go. “What is it? Can’t it wait?”
He leaned down, aiming for her lips.
Thalia turned her head to dodge him. “No, it’s your present. Don’t you want it?”
‘A gift for me… Darion felt those words strike deep, echoing in his chest.

Chapter 326
It was as if his dry, fractured heart was suddenly soothed, brought back to life for a moment.
‘When was the last time she gave me anything?’ Darion wondered.
She was still in the middle of a divorce case with him.
She was going to leave him.
But today, Thalia didn’t shy away from his closeness. In fact, she’d even prepared a gift for him.

Even though his body was burning with desire, the joy rising in his heart was so overwhelming that he finally let her go.
He was full of anticipation for the gift she’d prepared.
‘What could it be?’ Darion thought, his heart pounding with excitement.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you,” Darion said in a gentle tone, watching her with anticipation.
Darion looked at her with warmth in his eyes, his voice soft and tender.
Thalia motioned for him to sit on the couch, then walked over to the door and switched off the lights. She glanced back at him with a playful smile. “You have to see it in the dark, or it won’t be a surprise.”
“Alright,” Darion replied.
He gazed at her silhouette as she left the room.
Thalia closed the bedroom door behind her, shutting out all the light from the hallway.
The darkness enveloped Darion, but his heart was ablaze, and the smile lingered stubbornly on his lips.
He’d just felt her warmth, her affection.
That familiar tenderness nearly sent him over the edge.
He found himself thinking, maybe they wouldn’t get divorced after all. Maybe she’d drop the lawsuit. Just imagining them going back to how things used to be made his heart burn with renewed hope.
As the minutes slipped by, Darion felt the heat inside him intensify, his thoughts getting fuzzy and his head spinning.
But even with his mind clouded, he was still fixated on the surprise Thalia had promised him.
He had no idea how much time had passed when the bedroom door finally opened again. A slender figure walked in and closed the door behind her with a casual motion.
“Thalia? What’s the surprise?”
Darion’s eyes were bright as he watched her slowly make her way toward him.
