Chapter 330
“You drive,” Thalia said.
She opened the back door and got in.
Harvey nodded, slid into the driver’s seat, and asked, “Ms. Coleman, where to?”
Thalia pressed her fingers to her temples and replied, “Maplewood Estate.”
She wasn’t in any shape to go back to the hospital. Diana would definitely see right through her.
“Got it,” Harvey replied.
The car started up again, and traffic on the road was slowly getting back to normal.
Thalia had no clue what lengths Darion had gone to just to find her and cut her off.

She stared out the window, her heart felt like an empty shell. The cold wind swept through, leaving her numb to everything.
Back at Maplewood Estate, she took a hot shower and texted Diana to let her know she wouldn’t be coming over tonight.
Diana sent back a voice message, her tone warm and gentle. “Get some rest, sweetheart. You’ve been working too hard lately.”
Thalia curled up, listening to Diana’s voice, and felt a rare sense of peace settle in her heart.
Just then, her phone buzzed again. She checked it and saw a message from Sebastian.
Sebastian: [You’re back?]
Sebastian: [Saw your lights on. Not trying to be creepy or anything. My house is right behind yours.]
Thalia: [Yeah, I got back tonight.]
Sebastian: [How’s Diana doing? Is she recovering well?]
Thalia: [She’s pretty good. Thanks for caring.]
Sebastian: [Come on, no need to be so formal. Aren’t we friends?]
Thalia: [Yes.]
Sebastian: [I think I saw you at the cemetery today, but I wasn’t sure it was you, so I didn’t message you. Did you go?]
Thalia: [Yeah, I went. It was Emely Blackburn’s memorial day.]

Sebastian: [You seem pretty uncomfortable around Mr. Blackburn, but you treat Emely Blackburn with a lot of respect.]
Sebastian: [Isn’t he your adoptive sister’s husband?]
Thalia: [They’re really different.]
Sebastian: [Alright, it’s late. I’ll let you rest.]
Thalia: [Okay, you get some rest too. Goodnight.]
She put her phone away and tossed and turned, but sleep just wouldn’t come.
Every time she closed her eyes, Darion’s blood-stained body flashed in her mind.
She frowned, wishing she could shake off those images, but they clung to her no matter what.
‘Ugh, this is driving me crazy.
‘Why should I care if he lives or dies?’ she told herself.
Thalia yanked the pillow over her head, trying to block everything out and force herself to sleep.
Nightmares plagued her until morning. When she finally woke up and saw the dark circles under her she couldn’t help but let out a silent sigh, what a mess.
eyes,
She put on some light makeup to cover up her exhaustion. It was Tuesday. She could head to City Hall and finally handle the divorce paperwork.
He’d promised her, so he shouldn’t have any second thoughts.
As the thought crossed her mind, her expression froze for a moment.
‘Hasn’t he regretted things enough times before?’ she thought.
‘What if he ends up regretting it again this time?’
She gripped her phone tightly and dialed his number.
After three rings, the call finally connected.
“Hey, Thalia.”
But it was Jason on the line, and he sounded really tired.
“He said he’d go through with the divorce today,” Thalia said.
Jason let out a sigh. “Darion’s still in the hospital. He lost a lot of blood last night and still hasn’t woken up.”

Jason replied, “There’s nothing the doctors can do. We just have to wait for him to wake up on his own.”
Thalia lowered her gaze and said softly, “Okay, I understand.”
With that, she hung up.
“Thalia…” Jason called out to her before she hung up. “Maybe you should come see him at the hospital. His injuries are really serious.”
