Helen instinctively looked away, holding Keith close. “Darion, since you’re awake, you should get some rest.
I’ll take Keith home to rest…”
“Ryan,” Darion called out in a hoarse voice.
Darion called out to Ryan, who was standing nearby, his voice hoarse.
Ryan stepped forward and gently lifted Keith into his arms. “Keith, how about I take you to see your mom?” he said softly.
They’d been out for a while, and Keith really missed Thalia. He nodded.
Ryan carried Keith away.
With Keith gone, Helen suddenly lost her shield and was at a complete loss.
Jason sensed the tension in the room and was about to say something, but Darion spoke first. “You can go
back now.”
“Alright,” Jason replied.
Jason nodded and walked toward the door. Then, as if remembering something, he turned back. “Oh, by the way. Thalia called this morning.”
Darion’s face stayed completely blank. “Mm.”
Jason glanced at him in surprise. Even after their fallout, it was obvious Darion was still hung up on Thalia. He didn’t want a divorce, and every day he waited for her to call him first.
But today, he seemed so distant.
Jason didn’t dig any deeper. He pushed open the door and walked out.
The cold, harsh lights in the hospital room made everyone look pale and drained.
Helen bit her lip and said, “Darion, it was your mother who made the mistake…”
“Why did you do it?” Darion asked, his tone icy and distant.
He stared at her with those dark, narrow eyes, completely cold and unreadable.
Helen said, “I just don’t want you with Thalia anymore. There’s too much danger around her, and if you stay by her side, you’ll only get caught up in it.
“If you two were still in love, maybe I could’ve accepted it. But she doesn’t love you anymore. She can’t wait to get away from you, to divorce you…”

She doesn’t love you anymore…
Those words cut through him like a knife to the heart.
Darion’s face grew even paler, but his expression didn’t change.

“Darion, I’m only doing this for you. I just can’t stand the thought of something happening to you. Emely is already gone. If I lost you too, how could I possibly go on?” Helen broke down, tears spilling down her cheeks as she spoke.
Darion closed his eyes for a moment, then said, “Mom, you really let me down. I thought you weren’t like Grandma.”
“I…” Helen tried to say something.
Darion spoke coldly, “Didn’t you want to go find Dad? Then go. Keep doing your MSF work. Unless it’s an emergency, don’t come back.”
Helen stared at him, stunned. “You’re really sending me away?”
Darion’s voice was rough. “Isn’t that what you want? At least I’m not making you live with Grandma.”
