Thalia was having dinner with Diana. After a full day, she was almost back to her usual self, and Diana didn’t notice anything unusual about her.

Her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and said to Diana, “I’ll go take this call.”

“Okay, go ahead,” Diana replied with a nod.

Thalia held her phone and walked out of the hospital room, heading straight to the end of the hallway before answering. “Hello?”

“Meet me at City Hall tomorrow at 1 PM,” Darion said, his voice cold and to the point.

He hung up without another word.

The abrupt end of the call left Thalia momentarily stunned.

Her phone had already returned to the lock screen; Thalia’s lips curled into a faint smile. ‘So it’s finally happening. We’re really getting divorced,’ she thought.

She quickly returned to the hospital room. Diana noticed the cheerful look on her face and asked, “What’s the good news?”

“I’m getting divorced tomorrow,” Thalia replied.

“You…” Diana gave her a resigned smile. “Most people are heartbroken when a relationship ends, but you’re actually happy about it.”

“Of course I’m happy,” Thalia said. “I’ve been trying to get this divorce for ages, and now it’s finally happening.”

She was about to have nothing to do with him anymore.

She could finally shake him off for good.

The tight string in her heart finally loosened for a moment.

Thalia even helped herself to an extra half bowl at dinner.

The next day.

After a night of rest, Darion was feeling much better. He went straight back to Blackburn Manor.

Helen was packing her things. She’d already booked her flight, which was leaving in two hours.

“Darion, are you here to see me off?” Helen asked, her voice carrying a hint of world-weariness as she looked at her youngest son.

Darion said coldly, “I’m not.”

Helen was taken aback. “Then what brings you here?”

“Where’s Miya?” Darion asked, his voice low and serious.

“She’s been home,” Helen replied.

After a pause, Helen said, “Darion, this was my idea. You really shouldn’t blame her…”

“She’s an independent person. She could’ve said no,” Darion replied, his expression growing even colder. “She told me she only loved Emely, but she was just lying to me.”

‘So everything Thalia said was true.

‘Miya isn’t as simple as she looks.

‘She actually has these twisted feelings for me, Darion thought.

A flash of disgust flickered in Darion’s eyes.

He even regretted ever going easy on Miya, just because Keith was Emely’s kid.

Helen was momentarily at a loss for words. She knew her youngest son’s temper well enough not to say anything more.

Darion walked into the living room and caught sight of Miya Coleman rushing upstairs.

“Miya Smith,” Darion called out, his voice icy and deliberate.

He purposely called her by the wrong name.

Miya stopped in her tracks, turning around in shock. “Did you just call me that?”

He always used to call her Miya!

But now he was calling her Miya Smith?

She wasn’t a Smith anymore!

She hadn’t gone by Smith in forever!

Darion’s eyes were filled with a chilling darkness. “If Emely ever found out about your filthy little thoughts, he’d regret marrying you for the rest of his life.”
