Chapter 336

Ryan’s tone was distant. “Mrs. Blackburn.”

Thalia kept her cool. “Where’s Darion? Is he playing games with me again?”

Ryan replied, “Mr. Blackburn got held up with something. Please wait a little longer. He promised you, and he’ll keep his word.”

Thalia let out a soft scoff. “I hope he actually does this time.”

With that, she hung up the phone.

Sitting in the car, she drummed her fingers on the steering wheel, over and over.

At first, she was frustrated and irritated, feeling like he was playing her again. He always acted this way, never giving a damn about her feelings.

Once she cooled off, she recalled the icy, resolute look in his eyes that night.

He really wasn’t going to chase after her anymore.

So, this time, he wouldn’t go back on his word.

Guess I’ll just wait then.

She hopped online and hit up Wendy for a game. Gaming always made the time fly.

Once they were on voice chat, Wendy asked, “Thalia, how have you been lately?”

Thalia picked up on the frustration in her voice and asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Wendy let out a dramatic sigh. “My family’s been nagging me to go on blind dates. Help! Can you believe it? I’m still young and gorgeous, and they’re already trying to set me up!”

Thalia couldn’t help but laugh, then said, “Honestly, blind dates aren’t so bad. No messy feelings, just a partnership for mutual benefit. That way, both people can do their own thing.”

But Wendy wasn’t buying it. “I just want someone who actually loves me, someone who’ll truly care for me and keep me safe.”

Thalia replied, “Just take it slow. Fate hasn’t brought the right one to you yet.”

“Ugh… I’ve got another blind date tomorrow. Girl, if you’re free, will you come with me?” Wendy pleaded softly. “Come with me, please, please! I’ve met so many weirdos lately, my eyes can’t take it anymore!”

Thalia raised an eyebrow. “So you want me to ruin my eyes right along with you?”

“That’s not what I mean!” Wendy shot back. “If you’re there, at least I’ll have something nice to look at before my eyes give out. You’ll brighten up my day!”

Thalia’s lips twitched. “Let me see if I’m free tomorrow. I’ll let you know then.”

“Yeah, sounds good!” Wendy chirped.

They jumped into the game and played for two hours straight, but there was still no sign of Darion.

It was already four in the afternoon, and Thalia’s frown deepened.

She was about to call him again when she spotted a familiar car pulling up.

The license plate was one she knew all too well. She put her phone away, picked up her ID, and walked straight into City Hall.

A moment later, she heard the steady footsteps of a man approaching from behind.

Thalia grabbed their number for the queue. There were still two couples ahead of them getting divorced.

She and Darion took a seat in the waiting area.
