Chapter 338
The next day.
:
At 7:50 AM, Thalia pushed open the door to the coffee shop.
The shop had just opened, and the staff were busy setting up for the day.
“Thalia, over here!” Wendy called out, waving enthusiastically.
Wendy beckoned Thalia over as soon as she saw her.

Thalia walked over and sat down next to Wendy, her face full of resignation. “A blind date at eight in the morning? That’s a first for me.”
Wendy rolled her eyes. “Oh, you haven’t seen anything yet. Let me tell you, I once had a guy ask me out at one in the morning and just sent me a hotel address.
“Another time, he met me at three in the afternoon, drank three cups of coffee, and when I suggested lunch, he said he was too full from coffee. And now this one, he was supposed to be here at eight, and he’s still a no-
show.”
Thalia listened to Wendy’s rant, her lips twitching. “Your mom really is setting you up with a bunch of weirdos. Why is she so desperate to marry you off?”
Wendy shook her head. “I have no idea. It’s like she thinks I’m breaking some kind of law by not being married. She just keeps throwing all these weirdos at me. I’m gorgeous. How could any of those losers ever be good enough for me?”
Thalia gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Today’s probably just for show anyway. You can come with me to City Hall afterward.”
“Huh?” Wendy’s eyes lit up. “Did that jerk finally agree to the divorce?”
“Yeah,” Thalia nodded. “We don’t have to wait for the court date anymore.”
Wendy let out a muffled cheer. “Finally, you can get rid of that bastard. Let him go be with his beloved Miya!”
Thalia skipped the coffee and ordered a hot milk instead. She took a few small sips, just smiling quietly without saying a word.
At 8:10, there was another commotion at the door. Wendy glanced over and nudged Thalia under the table, letting her know the blind date had arrived.
Thalia looked over with a casual air, but her face froze as soon as she saw him.
The guy coming over was dressed in a suit that clearly didn’t fit, with barely any hair on his head, beady, slightly upturned eyes, and a big, dark mole by his nose.
When he grinned, his eyes just vanished completely.

The worst part was, he kept reaching up to mess with the few strands of hair he had left.

Thalia pretended to fix her hair, using her arm to hide her face, her eyes wide with shock as she glanced at Wendy.
“Seriously, Wendy, are you sure your mom picked this guy for you?” Thalia said, barely believing it.
Wendy looked totally defeated. “Trust me, I wasn’t expecting this either.”
The guy walked over, his eyes glued to Wendy. “You must be Wendy, right? Hi, I’m Darren.”
Wendy kept a straight face. “I’m not Wendy. You’ve got the wrong person.”
Darren paused, then turned to Thalia. “Then are you Wendy?”
But the moment he locked eyes with Thalia, Darren was so mesmerized he nearly started drooling.
