Thalia sighed helplessly. “It’s really not a big deal. Why are you apologizing?”

Wendy stammered, “It’s just… I had a whole rant planned to roast that scumbag Mr. Blackburn, but now I don’t even get the chance. Honestly, I’m kind of bummed. Feels like I let myself down.”

Thalia was speechless.

She just hung up on Wendy.

Sebastian watched her with a smile, noticing her lips twitching. “Did something amusing just happen?”

“No,” Thalia shook her head. But as she spaced out for a moment, a girl suddenly ran over and bumped right

into her car.

Thalia hit the brakes hard, but the girl was still knocked to the ground and tumbled several times.

The sudden turn of events made Thalia jump in shock.

Sebastian’s face grew serious. “Don’t be scared. Your car has a dashcam. No one can try to frame you for this.”

With that, he got out of the car and walked over to check on the girl.

The girl looked about eighteen or nineteen, her arms and legs scraped and bruised, her hair all tangled, but she was eager to get up and leave.

Thalia got out of the car as well, frowning as she watched for a moment before asking, “Hi, how are you feeling?”

The girl shook her head. “I’m okay, really, I’m okay… I didn’t mean to run into your car, and I don’t need any compensation. I’ve got something to do, so I need to go.”

She managed to stand, limping forward, but after just a couple steps, her body wobbled and she went down

hard.

Thalia hurried over to check, and sure enough, the girl had fainted.

That was when Thalia noticed how skinny the girl was, her complexion unnaturally pale, she looked extremely frail.

She dialed 911 in a hurry.

The girl had a broken leg, but the rest of her was fine. Thalia felt a weight lift off her shoulders.

After all that, it was already past ten.

Sebastian was about to reassure her, but his phone suddenly rang. “Yeah, got it. I’ll be there soon.”

He hung up and glanced at her with an apologetic sigh. “There’s a big meeting at the group. I have to head

Thalia nodded. “Alright, thanks for being here with me.”

Sebastian gave her a gentle smile. “If you really want to thank me, how about treating me to dinner?”

Thalia nodded. “No problem.”

Watching Sebastian leave, Thalia couldn’t help but frown. She’d hoped he could stay here for a while so she could run over to City Hall, but now that plan was out the window.

She quickly called her driver over. “Just hang out here for a bit. I’m going to get the divorce sorted and I’ll be right back.”

Dax nodded. “Got it, Ms. Coleman.”

Thalia hurried over to City Hall, just barely making it before their lunch break.

But Darion wasn’t there. Only Ryan was waiting at the entrance.

When he saw her, Ryan glanced at his watch. “Mrs. Blackburn, you’re two hours late.”
