Darion’s tone was calm. “I’m only getting three hours of sleep a day just to finish things up here. When would I even have time to play games with you?”
Thalia gripped her phone tightly. “So when are you actually coming back?”
Darion paused for a moment before answering, “Probably another seven days.”
“You!” Thalia snapped, her voice trembling with anger.
She was so pissed off she could barely breathe.
‘His attitude was crystal clear. What could I even say?’ she wondered.
She hung up on him without another word.
Thalia took a deep breath, steadying herself.
She returned to the living room, and Diana glanced over at her. “What’s wrong, Thalia?”
Thalia shook her head. “I’m fine, really.”
She sat down next to Diana and said, “Grandma, I’m almost done with my current job. After that, I’m planning to start my own studio.”
“Yeah, you can do that,” Diana replied, nodding.
She added, “Why work for someone else when you can be your own boss?”
“Yeah, I’ll be working on the scripts or stories I love, maybe even some anime. Things are probably going to get pretty busy for me,” Thalia said, linking her arm with Diana’s. “I might not be able to spend as much time with you.”
“It’s fine, you just focus on your work. I won’t be a burden,” Diana replied with a gentle smile.
But Thalia shook her head. “Don’t say that. You’re my biggest supporter. Knowing you’ve got my back gives me the drive to do anything.”
Her words made Diana beam with happiness.
Once she had a plan, Thalia jumped right into preparations.
A couple of days later, Bonnie reached out to her.
“Ms. Coleman, I think I’m okay now. I can be discharged,” Bonnie said, sounding a bit nervous.
Thalia replied, “Did the doctor say you’re ready to leave?”
She paused for a moment, then asked, “Do you really want to leave the hospital that badly?”

“Yeah.” Bonnie murmured. “I just want to get back to work and start paying you back as soon as possible.”
Thalia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “No need to rush. Let me talk to your doctor first, then we’ll see.”
Bonnie’s voice was a little flat. “Alright.”
After hanging up. Thalia went to the hospital right away. She went straight to Bonnie’s attending physician and asked about how she was doing lately.
The doctor said Bonnie was fine to walk around as usual, but she should avoid any strenuous activity and needed to take it easy and rest up.
Thalia gave a nod and then headed over to Bonnie’s room.
Thalia had made sure Bonnie got a private room. Standing at the door, she could hear Bonnie talking to herself inside.
Looking through the glass, Thalia saw Bonnie was completely alone.
Bonnie was holding her phone, chatting away nonstop.
Thalia paused to listen, then arched her eyebrow. ‘Wait, is Bonnie doing voice work for an anime?’ she thought.
And that anime just happened to be one Thalia had been following lately.
Unlike the nervousness and fear Bonnie usually showed when talking to Thalia, she slipped right into the role this time, and her performance was surprisingly impressive, Thalia thought.
Thalia’s eyes lit up.
Her studio was still in the planning phase, and she was just looking for voice actors, Thalia realized.
Thalia knocked on the door, and Bonnie jumped, hurriedly hiding her phone. She looked up, flustered. “Ms.
Coleman.”
Thalia smiled warmly. “Relax, I checked with your doctor. You can leave the hospital, but you still need to take it easy. No strenuous activity, and even walking around too much is off limits.”
Bonnie’s eyes sparkled. “Really? Let me get started on the discharge process right away!”
Thalia smiled. “Why are you in such a hurry? I just heard you doing some voice acting for anime. Are you interested in voice acting?”
Bonnie nodded shyly. “Yeah.”
Thalia said, “I’m setting up a voice studio. Interested? Just so you know, if you work for me, it’ll be to pay off your debt. I’ll give you a thousand a month for living expenses, just enough so you won’t starve. Once your debt’s cleared, you’ll get a proper salary.”
