Chapter 350

Sebastian set his phone on the coffee table and slid it over to Thalia. “One of the people involved was the photographer who documented the relief effort back then. He still has a few photos, including one of Miya carrying Darion out of the ruins.”

He showed her that photo first.

Thalia’s lashes quivered, and her face went pale. She just couldn’t believe what she was seeing. ‘Is this really Miya and Darion?’ she thought, stunned.

She took the phone and studied the photo closely, realizing it was the same one Darion had shown her before.

‘So… it’s real?

‘It was really Miya who saved Darion.

‘But then… what does that mean for me?

‘So who did I actually save?’ Thalia thought, a wave of uncertainty washing over her.

She glanced up at Sebastian, her throat constricting with anxiety. “But I remember… I was the one who saved Darion…”

“Just hold on a second,” Sebastian said, seeing her face go pale and her confidence start to waver.

He swiped to the next photo. In it, a young and innocent Thalia was carrying a boy out of the ruins. The picture caught the boy’s profile.

He looked almost exactly like Darion, but it wasn’t him.

Thalia’s eyes widened in shock. She held the phone tightly, zooming in on the photo to get a better look at the boy’s profile.

The boy was unconscious, his arms hanging limply at his sides as Thalia gritted her teeth and carried him out of the ruins.

The camera had caught the moment perfectly, capturing a clear shot of the boy’s face.

“He… he is…” Thalia’s lips moved, but it took her a long moment before she finally managed to say, “Emely Blackburn?”

“That’s right,” Sebastian confirmed.

Sebastian swiped to the next photo, which was a close-up of Emely Blackburn.

He was wearing his school uniform, eyes bright and locked on the camera, holding a trophy in his hand. A gentle smile played at his lips, making him look both handsome and approachable.

“I specifically found a photo of Emely Blackburn from his high school days and compared it to this one. They’re definitely the same person,” Sebastian said.

Sebastian looked at her, his gaze steady. “You really did save someone that day. It just wasn’t Darion. It was Emely Blackburn.”

Thalia’s eyes glazed over, stunned and lost. She never could’ve imagined things would turn out like this.

‘How could it be Emely Blackburn?’ Thalia thought, her thoughts in chaos.

‘All this time, I was convinced I’d saved Darion. Isn’t that just laughable?’ she thought, feeling a bitter sting in her chest.

‘Every time I tried to keep Darion from treating Miya well… did he just see me as being unreasonable?’ Thalia wondered, embarrassment flooding through her.

‘But what did I ever do wrong?’ Thalia thought, feeling a wave of helplessness and injustice wash over her.

Darion had already uncovered the truth, but he hid it from her. He even paid off everyone in Hope Village so they wouldn’t say a word!

He was the one who kept misleading her from the very start.

After all the chaos in her mind, Thalia finally managed to steady herself.
