“Come on, we’re already so close. Can you stop calling me ‘Mr. Flynn’? It makes us sound like strangers,” Sebastian gave her a resigned look. “If you feel awkward calling me by my surname, just call me Sebastian.”

“Sebastian?” Thalia called out tentatively.

“Yeah, that’s good,” Emely flashed a grin. “If my sister were as easy to deal with as you, I’d be so much less stressed.”

Thalia stood up. “Verena’s actually pretty nice when she’s not acting up. Sebastian, I’m gonna head back and clear my head. I won’t bother you anymore.”

Sebastian chuckled. “Alright, I’ll walk you out.”

As they walked toward the door, Sebastian opened it, only to find Verena standing right there, her hand raised as if she was about to knock.

“Sebastian, what’s she doing here?” Verena asked.

Verena’s face instantly darkened when she saw Thalia.

Sebastian said, “Thalia’s my guest. She’s just here to visit. What’s the problem?”

“Just friends?” Verena looked unconvinced, her eyes narrowing at Thalia.

Thalia shot her a cold look. “If there’s something wrong with your brain, just go make an appointment at the hospital. I actually know a brain specialist. Want me to hook you up?”

Verena’s face darkened. “Are you seriously insulting me right now?”

Thalia raised an eyebrow. “Just giving back what you gave me. So, you can throw shade at me, but I can’t clap back?”

Verena sneered. “So, Thalia, did Darion ditch you and now you’re making a move on Sebastian? Forget it. Our family would never let someone like you in!”

“Verena!” Sebastian’s voice dropped, his tone serious.

“You’re way too hostile toward her. She hasn’t wronged you,” Sebastian said.
