She stumbled forward a couple of steps, and when she turned around, she spotted a glint of cold, white light flickering in the darkness.
Her pupils contracted sharply. “That’s… a knife!’ Thalia thought.
“Ouch! That hurts!” someone yelled.
The next second, someone screamed, and the crowd went wild with panic.
“Thalia? Thalia?!” Wendy’s frantic voice called out nearby, her tone full of panic as she searched for Thalia in the chaos.
Thalia tried to reach her, but the crowd was a mess. People were shoving and rushing toward the exits, making it impossible for her to get through.
“Wendy, don’t worry about me! Run, just get out!” Thalia yelled desperately, her voice cutting through the noise.
The next second, a chill shot down her spine, every hair standing on end. Danger was right behind her.
“Ms. Coleman, run! Hurry!”
Dax shouted anxiously.
Thalia’s mind was spinning, but she didn’t have time to think. She scrambled off the dance floor in a panic.
Her shout had already given away her location, and now someone was after her. She needed to move, fast.
Thalia realized with a jolt. Nowhere felt safe. She shouldn’t have let her guard down, not even for a second.

Her heart raced wildly, and people pressed in from all sides, shoving her forward whether she wanted to go or
not.
‘Wait, this isn’t the exit,’ Thalia thought, a wave of panic washing over her.
Before she knew it, she’d been pushed and jostled right into the hallway.
On both sides of the hallway were VIP rooms. People were flinging open the doors, rushing inside, and locking them behind themselves.
“Come on, it’s empty! Get in!” someone shouted.
A few men were right behind Thalia, and there happened to be a VIP room up ahead. They were shoving their way in as they spoke.
Thalia was pushed inside with them, no chance to resist.

I can’t go in there!
There’s no safety in the VIP rooms either!
‘I need to get out!’ Thalia urged herself, desperation taking over.

She struggled to turn away, but someone shoved her hard. “Get inside! It’s safer in there. Just wait until the police arrive!”
“I don’t…” Thalia began, but…
She stopped herself, snapping her mouth shut. She couldn’t make a sound, couldn’t risk giving away her location.
Thalia gripped the doorframe tightly, determined to wait until everyone else had gone in before making her
escape.
Just then, out of nowhere, someone grabbed Thalia’s wrist.
She felt the warmth of their hand as they pulled her close, hurriedly opened a door, and dragged her inside to hide.
