Chapter 36 Steal The Role

Thalia clenched her hands, her voice dry and brittle. “Can you find out who specifically got her the part?”

Wendy fumed. “That’s exactly why I’m so pissed off. My friend told me the name was Blackburn. It was your husband, that bastard!

“Isn’t she always trying to get his attention? Why does she have to steal your role, too? Whatever you do, she has to copy it. If you were eating crap, I bet she’d probably rush to be the first to try it.”

Thalia forced a stiff, hollow smile. “I won’t do that.”

Wendy said, “I’m just making a point. I’m so mad. You shouldn’t have held me back. I should’ve slapped her senseless that day!”

Thalia closed her eyes and slowly sank into the couch. “They aren’t even hiding it anymore… Then why won’t he agree to divorce?”

Wendy frowned too. “Yeah, why? If he’s so obsessed with that bitch, why doesn’t he make it official with her?”

Thalia had just been ready to start her new life, but the role she’d finally gotten was ripped away. Darion even personally took it from her and handed it right over to Miya.

‘Who does he think he is? How can he do that to me? I can’t stand it anymore!’ Thalia fumed to herself.

Thalia jumped to her feet and walked out without saying another word.

Wendy hurried after her, “Thalia, where are you going?”

“To the hospital,” Thalia replied, her face icy. “I need to ask him what he’s really planning.”

Her eyes were burning red, but she forced herself not to shed a single tear.

Wendy said, “I’ll come with you to confront him!”

But just then, her phone rang. She answered it, her tone gentle. “Mom… what’s wrong?”

After a few seconds, her expression changed sharply. “Okay… I’m coming home right now.”

Then she turned to Thalia, full of guilt. “Sorry, I can’t go with you. Something’s wrong at home. I have to go

back.”

Thalia nodded. “Alright, call me if you need me.”

“Thanks,” Darion grunted in agreement.

Thalia came to the hospital.

Standing at the doorway, she saw Miya peeling an apple for Darion with a gentle smile. Darion looked indifferent, but he was completely relaxed.

‘What a warm scene, Thalia thought bitterly.

It hurt her once more.

Thalia burst into the room, kicking the hospital door wide open with a loud bang.

Darion and Miya both jolted, their eyes widening in shock as they stared at her.

When Miya saw Thalia, her eyes flickered with a faint glint of triumph before she stood up, feigning delight. ” Lia, you’re finally here. Darion’s been waiting for you. He was just saying you hadn’t come to see him yet.”

Darion said nothing, but his dark, sharp eyes suddenly lit up.

Thalia strode in, her clear, icy gaze fixed on Darion, but she walked straight past him, stopping right in front of Miya.

Her arrival shattered the fake warmth in the room, leaving the air thick with suffocating tension.

“Weren’t you supposed to be badly hurt?” Thalia sneered. “How come you still have the energy to help her
