Thalia looked at the cops, her face blank. “I’ll go with you. I’ll cooperate with the investigation.”

Darion raised an eyebrow at her, then fished a marriage certificate out of his pocket. “Yeah, she’s telling the truth. We really were in the storage room.”

The cops looked at him like they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

‘Couldn’t he have just admitted it sooner?

‘What was the point of all that drama?

‘Was he just messing with his own wife for fun?’ The cops mused.

Thalia asked, “Can I go now?”

“Alright, you can go,” the cop nodded.

Thalia turned and walked away, the sound of Darion’s steady footsteps echoing behind her as he followed at an unhurried pace.

Dax was already done and waiting for her at the door.

When he saw her, he asked, “Ms. Coleman, is everything alright?”

“No, let’s go,” Thalia replied.

Thalia shook her head and headed for the door.

Dax noticed Darion trailing behind her, gave him a dirty look, then quickly caught up with Thalia.

As they stepped out of Blue Night, they saw a crowd gathered nearby, friends and family of the folks from inside the bar.

“Thalia, sweetheart!”

Wendy called out, then rushed over and hugged Thalia tight.

“I saw the cops show up. That freaked me out!” Wendy said, her face pale.

Thalia replied, “Someone got hurt, so things got pretty serious. But it’s settled now. Let’s head home.”

Wendy clung to her arm. “Yeah, let’s go home. I was so scared tonight.”

Dax went to get the car, and the two of them got in together.

As Thalia closed the car door, she spotted Darion coming out of the club. He was a bit far away, so she couldn’t make out his expression, but his whole vibe was totally laid-back.

Chapter 360

‘He didn’t seem bothered by anything that happened tonight,’ Thalia thought.

Running into him was totally unexpected.

And as for his whole “let’s get divorced tomorrow” thing, Thalia wasn’t buying it for a second.

Then she remembered how he’d just casually pulled out their marriage certificate, and her brows furrowed.

‘Seriously, is this guy nuts? Who walks around with their marriage certificate like it’s no big deal?’ Thalia thought.

“Darion!”

Jason spotted Darion and walked over, glancing around. “Where’s Thalia? She didn’t come out with you?”

“You really care about her, huh? She just got in the car. If you run now, you might still catch her,” Darion said, his tone flat.

Jason’s face froze, then he gave a sheepish laugh. “Darion, you’ve been acting weird lately. Are you really divorcing your wife? So why did you jump in to save her just now?”

Darion gave him a slow, almost bored look. “Why are you rambling so much tonight?”

Jason shrugged. “I’m just curious, man.”
