Chapter 366

Dax’s expression changed instantly, and he took off after the guy.

But there was no way a person could outrun a motorcycle.

As Dax ran off, the other bodyguards who had been hiding in the shadows stepped out to keep Thalia safe.

Thalia’s hands trembled, and she felt a strong sense of unease.

It felt like someone was watching her from the shadows, just waiting for the right moment to strike.

But at least she still had her phone. She called the police right away. Her bag still had her cards and some cash in it.

After explaining everything to the police and hanging up, Darion’s name suddenly flashed across her screen.

She took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a moment, then answered the call. “Hello?”

“You’re late,” Darion said. His voice was utterly devoid of emotion as it came through the phone.

“My bag got snatched. All my IDs were in there. I have to go get them replaced,” Thalia said.

After a pause, she asked directly, “Was this your doing?”

Darion let out a mocking laugh on the other end.

“Thalia, isn’t all this mess happening to you lately not my fault?” Darion said, still calling her by that pet name, his tone playful and a little sarcastic.

Thalia’s fingers curled nervously. “If it wasn’t you, who else would even know I was leaving the house today? Who else would have someone lying in wait near City Hall?”

Darion was the only one who knew she’d be at City Hall today for the divorce.

So, he was the only one she could suspect.

Darion replied, “I’ve already agreed to the divorce. There’s no reason for me to pull something like this. What would be the point? Trying to hold on to you? Do you even still love me?”

Before Thalia could say a word, he continued, “Is it really worth trying to hold on to someone who doesn’t love me?”

Thalia didn’t say a word.

The breeze brushed past, leaving her heart in turmoil. Her emotions scattered like ripples on a lake.

“I’ll come back after I get my IDs sorted out,” she said.

She ended the call right after.

Thalia didn’t waste any time. She headed straight out to get her IDs reissued.

Her stolen IDs were probably gone for good, and the thought left her feeling even more annoyed.

She got back in the car, this time with a different bodyguard driving. Thalia glanced at her horoscope. It warned that today was a day when nothing would go her way.

She thought to herself, ‘I really should’ve just stayed home.

‘I should’ve just waited for the court date without all this mess. Thalia sighed inwardly.

After running around City Hall and the bank to get all her documents sorted out, Thalia finally got a call from

Dax.

“Sorry, Ms. Coleman. I couldn’t catch up to him,” Dax said.

Thalia replied in a flat tone, “I figured as much. I’m already getting my IDs reissued. It should be done in three days at most.”

Dax replied, “Alright.”

“You go do your thing. I’m heading home,” Thalia said, her voice flat.

“Alright,” Dax replied.

When Thalia got home, her grandmother saw how down she looked and asked, “Didn’t work out again?”
