I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 369

Chapter 369

“You care about me?” Darion asked, his tone light and indifferent, not even bothering to turn around.

Darion Blackburn didn’t even bother to turn around, his voice floating back to her in a lazy drawl.

Thalia fell silent.

‘Why did I have to blurt that out?’ she scolded herself.

‘Seriously, that was so unnecessary!’

She went quiet, just staring ahead.

For a long time, there was no response. Darion didn’t even bother to turn around.

The breeze brushed past, carrying a low chuckle to Thalia’s ears. Her brows furrowed.

‘Why is he laughing?

‘What’s so funny anyway?’ she thought to herself.

Thalia remained aloof and silent.

The car was parked right by the door. As soon as the driver saw them coming out, he hurried to open the back door.

Thalia went straight for the front passenger seat.

The driver’s face went a bit stiff, and he nervously glanced at Darion.

Darion’s handsome face stayed totally unbothered as he got in, not showing any extra emotion.

The driver breathed out in relief.

The whole ride, the driver was extra cautious, because the atmosphere in the car was seriously off.

It was chilly and oppressive, so tense, everyone felt like they had to hold their breath.

Finally, the car pulled up to the gates of the abandoned factory.

Just when the driver thought he was finally free, a bodyguard appeared and swung the gates open.

‘Great, now I have to drive in,’ the driver thought to himself with a sigh.

He started the engine again and drove inside.

Up ahead, a bodyguard signaled for him to stop, so he finally hit the brakes.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Thalia swung the door open and stepped out briskly.

It was late autumn, and the night air was even chillier now. The moment she got out, a cold breeze swept over her, making her shiver instinctively.

Thankfully, she’d put on an extra jacket before heading out, so she got used to the cold pretty fast.

Beside her was a row of abandoned factory buildings, one door left open. Thalia stepped inside, and immediately, harsh, ragged breathing echoed in her ears.

Two bodyguards stood with flashlights, their beams illuminating the open floor.

She immediately spotted two men tied back-to-back, a club tossed on the ground nearby. The rough, labored breaths were coming from them.

Thalia froze, staying right where she was. She didn’t take another step forward.

Darion walked in behind her, glanced at the two men, then looked at Ryan beside him and asked, “Did they say anything?”

Ryan shook his head. “No, they’re tight-lipped.”

“You just weren’t ruthless enough,” Darion said coldly, nodding at the club. “Pick it up and keep beating them. Snap their legs if you have to. I’ll bring in the best specialists to patch them up, and then we’ll break them all over again.”

After finishing his orders, Darion shot a look at Thalia standing next to him.

Her face stayed expressionless. She didn’t look scared at all.
