“How did you get in touch? Where and how was the deal supposed to go down?” Ryan asked, standing off to the side.
The guy didn’t hold back at all. He laid it all out.
Ryan quickly had someone check out this Wale guy.
Then, the guy was let go.
The other guy hadn’t said a word, and Darion couldn’t help but give him a second look.
“Why have you been so quiet?” Darion asked.
The silent man looked up at him and said, “Mr. Blackburn, you were the one who gave us the orders. I just don’t get why you’re turning on us now.”
As soon as he said that, everyone in the factory was stunned.
Ryan kicked him hard and snapped, “What nonsense are you spouting? Mr. Blackburn doesn’t even know you, and there’s no way he’d ever do something like this. Don’t go slandering him!”
The man grunted in pain, his face contorted. He gasped for breath, then looked at Thalia and said, “Mrs. Blackburn, Mr. Blackburn was the one who told us to do this. He even had us put on a show in front of you, just to make himself look innocent.”
Thalia gave him a cool, indifferent look. “Oh, is that so? He had you guys put on a show, so he must’ve paid you well, right? So why are you turning on him?”
The man replied, “Because he actually broke my leg!”
Darion didn’t even flinch when the guy blurted that out.
He looked at Thalia and asked, “Do you believe him?”
Without even looking at Darion, Thalia kept her gaze fixed on the man sitting on the floor and asked, “He would have compensated you generously afterward. So you really had no reason to betray him.”
The man’s eyes shifted uneasily. “I… I didn’t want my leg broken…”
Thalia shook her head. “That’s not a good enough excuse. Even if it was just an act, he’d have gotten you the best doctors and paid you a generous compensation. That money would have set you up for life.”
She snorted lightly. “Do I really look that easy to fool?”
The man froze, stunned.
Thalia turned to Ryan and said, “Since he’s so protective of his legs, break them all. And make sure you don’t spare his third leg, either.”

No matter what his motives were, lying to her or trying to pull one over on her was just hurting her.
If this guy had wised up like his friend and come clean from the start, he wouldn’t be in this mess.
But it was clear someone had put him up to this, trying to stir up even more trouble between her and Darion.
But honestly, things were already icy and tense between her and Darion. There was no way they could get any
worse.
So Thalia kept her cool and saw right through the holes in his story, refusing to just fall for his lies.
