Thalia turned and walked out of the factory, putting some distance between herself and the sounds of pain echoing behind her.
Steady footsteps sounded behind her, and Darion stood not far away. His dark gaze fixed on her as he asked, “You don’t suspect me?”
Thalia turned to face him, her voice calm. “Now that you’ve caught him, did you recover the documents?”
Just then, Ryan came out, looking apologetic. “Thalia, I’m sorry. All your documents have been cut up.”
He took out a bag and showed her the pieces inside.
Thalia looked down, sighed softly, and said, “Fine.”
She turned and walked away.
But suddenly, Darion grabbed her wrist. His hand was warm, the heat spreading through her and chasing away the chill.
Thalia’s pretty brows furrowed as she pulled her hand free. “What is it now?”
Darion kept his eyes on her. “You don’t suspect me?”
Thalia’s long lashes fluttered for a moment before she replied, “I suspect you. I suspect everyone.”
Darion’s expression grew more serious.
“It truly wasn’t me,” he said.
His voice was low, and Thalia thought she heard a trace of helplessness in it.
Suddenly, Thalia remembered what had happened during the earthquake.
She asked, “If I wasn’t the one who saved you, why did you hide it from me? Was it amusing to see me hold on so stubbornly?”
Darion’s pupils contracted as he moved closer to her. “You found out?”
“Yes,” Thalia said, her eyes stormy with anger. “I saved Emely! Why did you hide this from me?”
Darion suddenly grabbed her shoulders and leaned in close. “Now that you know, what’s going through your mind?”
Thalia was thrown off by his sudden intensity, and she shoved him away.
“I just want to know, why did you lie to me?” she said.
Darion swallowed hard. The world around them was dark, only the car lights casting a faint glow.

He tried to read her expression, but he just couldn’t make sense of it.
He had no idea what she was thinking.

His hands dropped to his sides. ‘What’s the point of worrying about all this when we’re about to get divorced? he thought.
His expression quickly became calm again. “I’ll take you home.”
“Not going to answer me?” Thalia asked.
She scoffed. “So what’s the point of asking if I suspect you? Don’t tell me you couldn’t do something like this.”
Darion tensed up for a second, then walked off.
Thalia turned to Ryan. “Take me home.”
Ryan glanced around nervously, pulled out his phone and pretended to take a call. “Hello? Oh, you need me? Got it, I’m coming right now.”
He quickly headed back inside the factory.
Thalia fell silent.
She glanced at the other bodyguards. None of them even dared to look her in the eye.
She shot Darion a furious glare, then stormed out of the factory.
He was being vague and wouldn’t give her any answers. No way was she getting in his car again.
She couldn’t help but regret not driving herself here.
But after just a few steps, she heard someone rushing up behind her. Before Thalia could react, Darion scooped her up into his arms.
“Let me go!” Thalia shouted.
She fought back, hitting him wherever she could.
Darion didn’t pay her any mind, carrying her straight to the car. She kept trying to escape, but he pinned her in place.
Darion glared at her, his face serious. “Do you want me to tie you up or what?”
