Chapter 379
The person keeping an eye on her was Matthew Evans.
Thalia couldn’t figure out why.
She’d never done anything to offend him.
She racked her brain, but couldn’t find a single reason he would want to monitor her.

Frustrated, she tossed and turned, feeling like a transparent, razor-sharp sword was hanging over her head, ready to drop at any moment and shatter her to pieces.
‘Who’s really pulling the strings behind all this?
Why do they keep trying to kill me, again and again?
‘Whose plans am I messing up?’ she wondered.
Another sleepless night left Thalia feeling dead tired as she dragged herself out of her room.
Diana saw her granddaughter looking so worn out and felt a surge of worry. She reached out, her wrinkled hand gently holding Thalia’s, her warmth seeping into Thalia’s fingers. “Thalia, are you still not going to tell Grandma what’s wrong? What happened?”
Thalia’s heart trembled, guilt and worry mixing inside her. An uncertain expression flickered across her face. “What? Grandma, what are you talking about?”
Diana’s gaze was complicated as she let out a soft sigh. “Alright, if you don’t want to say, I won’t force you.”
Thalia looked genuinely puzzled. “What exactly do you want me to say? Why are you acting all weird? Have you been binge-watching dramas again? Don’t tell me you’ve been having crazy dreams too.”
Diana just stared at her, speechless.
Thalia leaned against Diana’s shoulder, closing her eyes for a moment. “Don’t worry, Grandma. I just haven’t been sleeping well. Not being able to get divorced is really messing with my head, so I keep losing sleep over it. Once it’s finally done, I’ll be fine.”
Diana still looked doubtful. “That’s all that’s bothering you?”
“Yeah, that’s it. Nothing else,” Thalia nodded firmly.
Diana said gently, “Alright, go get something to eat.”
“Okay,” Thalia replied.
Today, all the paperwork was finally sorted out. Thalia picked up her documents and immediately posted

about it on Instagram.
Before she hit send, she made sure only Sebastian and Matthew could see the post.
If anything unexpected happened again, she figured both of them would definitely be involved.
She’d already tested Matthew, and now it was Sebastian’s turn to see how he’d react.
Once she got in the car, she texted Darion, telling him to meet her at City Hall.
She took a deep breath, her eyes flashing with determination as she drove straight to City Hall.

Just as she was about to reach City Hall, her phone suddenly rang, and her heart jumped into her throat.
‘Here it comes!
‘What’s going to happen this time?
‘Who’s behind this now?’ she thought.
She pulled over to the curb and answered the phone, seeing Trenton Coleman’s name flash across the screen.
After the last incident, she hadn’t seen Trenton Coleman or Shyla Mcgee.
Shyla was still committed to the psychiatric hospital.
‘Why is he calling me now?’ Thalia thought, feeling a wave of unease.
“Hello?” Thalia answered, suspicion creeping into her voice.
She picked up the call, her mind racing with questions.
Trenton’s voice sounded weary. “Thalia, your mom’s sick again. She wants to see you. She regrets what she did. Do you… still hold it against her?”
Thalia’s fingers tightened around her phone. She took a steadying breath and said coldly, “If she’s sick, she should see a doctor. What do you want from me? I can’t fix her.”
Trenton was clearly caught off guard, but he pushed on. “Thalia, parents can never be wrong in their children’s eyes. Even if we messed up, we gave you life and raised you. Are you really going to turn your back on all that?”
Thalia lowered her gaze, her long lashes hiding whatever emotion flickered in her eyes. Her tone was icy. “Just act like I never existed.”
With that, she hung up.
She headed back toward City Hall, her pretty face completely expressionless.
Just one more turn and she’d be there.
