Even from a distance, Thalia could still make out who it was.
Darion’s car was coming right at them!
Her heart raced, filled with both fear and anxiety.

Just then, her phone rang. Thalia glanced back and saw Darion in the car behind her, holding his phone.
“Hello?” Thalia said, her voice shaky.
Her hands trembled as she answered the call.
“Don’t get out. Lock the doors,” Darion’s voice was deep and steady, so calm it made her panic fade a little.
“Okay,” Thalia replied.
Darion spoke softly, “Nothing’s going to happen to you.”
With that, he hung up.
The dozen or so men moved away, but a few stayed behind, their eyes fixed on Thalia, watching her every
move.
Thalia’s bodyguards were stuck outside the perimeter, completely unable to get through.
Meanwhile, Darion opened his car door and stepped down onto the pavement.
Thalia’s eyes widened in shock.
‘Why is he getting out?’ Thalia wondered, her heart racing.
‘Doesn’t he realize how dangerous this is?’ she thought, panic rising inside her.
She wanted to yell at him, but seeing the men lurking by her car, she didn’t dare lower the window, afraid they’d snatch her the moment she did.
Thalia grabbed her phone and tried to call for help, but no matter how many times she dialed, the call just wouldn’t connect.
Her phone had no signal at all. Someone was jamming the area.
Her face turned ghostly pale, panic and nerves overwhelming her as she looked back toward Darion’s car again.
Darion, flanked by two bodyguards, was now facing off against a dozen men.
And every one of those guys was wielding weapons, iron rods, knives, you name it.

The sky turned gloomy, and a cold wind swept by, its whimpering sound eerily reminiscent of someone sobbing.
Darion’s dark, narrow eyes were utterly devoid of warmth as he stared coldly at the dozen men across from
him.

‘Every time, they send more people than before.
‘Guess they’re getting desperate.
‘Who exactly is my wife?
‘Her existence must be blocking someone’s path. Someone out there wants her gone for good.
‘But that’s not happening on my watch, Darion resolved, his determination steely.
Darion struck first, catching them off guard. The other side, tense and ready, jumped right into the fight.
Thalia clapped a hand over her mouth, watching the fight outside with terrified eyes.
Every time someone’s rod was about to strike Darion, she had to stifle a scream.
But Darion dodged every attack, and even seized the chance to snatch an iron rod from one of them.
With a weapon in hand, his attacks grew even fiercer.
The thudding blows echoed through the car window, the sound of rods hitting flesh followed by painful
groans.
The dozen men who had surrounded Darion were quickly taken down, falling one after another.
The guys who’d been watching Thalia like hawks saw what was happening, shot each other nervous looks, and then jumped right into the chaos.
No matter how tough Darion was, even he couldn’t take on so many at once.
The new guys who jumped in were fresh and full of energy, while Darion was already running on empty after his first round.
“Darion!” Thalia shouted, panic flooding her voice.
