Chapter 383
Shadows flickered outside, and Thalia hit the rear wipers, finally able to see what was going on.
Five or six of their guys were already lying on the ground.
Darion was down on one knee in a pool of blood, leaning on an iron bar to keep himself upright.
Thalia’s eyes narrowed in alarm. She hurried out of the car and ran straight toward him.
She collapsed to her knees in front of him, pulling him into her arms.
“Darion, are you okay? Darion?” she called out, her voice trembling.

The rain was coming down in sheets, drenching both of them. Darion was soaked, not just from the rain, but from the blood mixing with it on his clothes.
Thalia clung to his arm, her voice shaking as she tried to pull him up. “Get up, Darion! We have to get you to the hospital, now!”
Darion looked up, rain dripping from his dark lashes. His sharp, fox-like eyes were streaked with red, and a reckless aura still surrounded him. The fight had awakened a killer instinct in him.
But right now, he locked eyes with her and asked, “Are you worried about me?”
Thalia was frantic. “This isn’t the time for that, Darion! We need to get you to the hospital, right now!”
“Watch your back!”
Right then, one of the bodyguards lying on the ground let out a raspy shout.
Before Thalia could react, someone jerked her back, and their positions flipped in an instant.
Thunk!
It was the sound of a sharp knife piercing through flesh.
Thalia finally realized what was happening. The guy who’d been sprawled on the ground had suddenly sprung up, trying to kill her with a single blow.
But the blade didn’t hit her. It plunged into Darion’s shoulder instead.
“Darion…” Thalia cried out, her voice shaky with fear.
The rain kept pouring, so heavy she could barely keep her eyes open. Through the blur, she saw Darion’s brows furrow in pain. He spun around and slammed the iron bar right into the guy’s skull. The attacker went down for good.
The knife was still lodged in Darion’s shoulder, and he was drenched in blood and rain, his whole body a
mess.

Thalia’s eyes stung with unshed tears as she grabbed Darion’s arm to steady him. “We… we need to get you to the hospital…”
Her voice was shaky and thick with tears.
Thunk…
The iron bar hit the ground with a heavy thud, sending up a spray of water from the pavement.
Thalia struggled to support Darion, half-carrying him to her car.
Thalia forced herself to stay calm, but her hands kept trembling uncontrollably. Desperate to snap out of it, she pinched her thigh hard.
There was still a car blocking her path. Without a second thought, she slammed the accelerator and crashed straight into it.
The car raced down the highway, the air thick with the smell of blood. In the back seat, Darion had gone completely silent.
“Darion, can you hear me? Darion?” Thalia gripped the steering wheel, her voice trembling as she kept calling out to him.
