I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 386

Chapter 386

“What?” Thalia asked, her voice trembling, still choked with emotion.

Her lashes were wet with tears as she looked at him, her expression confused and lost.

Darion spoke softly, “I’ll help you uncover the truth and keep you safe. But in return, you have to move

back to Rosewood Manor.”

His piercing dark eyes locked onto her, his tone turning icy.

“Divorce is inevitable. I don’t see any reason to keep this marriage going. But your troubles have brought me nothing but headaches. Every time I step in to save you, maybe someone’s already watching me because of it.”

Thalia clenched her fists, lost in thought as she listened to him.

Darion closed his eyes, weariness showing in his expression. “Take your time to think about it.”

The room fell silent, and at some point, the rain outside had stopped.

Thalia gradually regained her composure, and it hit her. She really didn’t have the ability to uncover the truth by herself.

And yet, Darion was still willing to help her.

It was just a deal.

She wasn’t really at a disadvantage.

Besides, he’s the one who keeps taking the hits.

He really had done a good job protecting her.

After a long silence, Thalia finally looked up at him and asked, “Is that it? Just move back, that’s all?”

“Yes,” Darion replied, his eyes still closed.

His voice was calm as he said, “I won’t ask anything else from you. Just move back, that’s all I need.”

Thalia let out a slow breath and said, “Before we do anything else, let’s sign the divorce papers first.”

Darion opened his eyes, his gaze dark and intense. “So, that’s your extra term.”

Thalia’s eyes flickered as she said, “We can’t get the divorce decree right now, but we can still sign the agreement. You said yourself. You want this marriage over, too. So, when everything’s settled, we’ll use the agreement to make it official.”

Darion was seething inside. He’d tried to compromise, but Thalia was still so ruthless.

Even after everything he’d been through, battered and bruised, she was still fixated on divorce.

But what choice did he have?

He kept his face blank. “Since you’re adding conditions, I get to add one too.”

Thalia blinked in confusion. “How does that even count?”

“Is this what you call a fair deal, Thalia? Do you really think it’s fair?” Darion cut her off, shooting a glance at his bruised body.

Thalia was at a loss for words.

She stayed quiet.

Darion continued, “You’re responsible for looking after me until I’m back on my feet.”

Thalia’s brows knitted.

Darion’s tone turned even colder. “Seriously? You won’t even do something this small?”

“Fine,” Thalia said after thinking it over.

‘If it wasn’t for me, he wouldn’t be in this mess. Taking care of him is the least I can do,’ Thalia thought, feeling it was only fair.

Darion closed his eyes again. “Let’s start right now. I’m thirsty.”

Thalia just stared at him, speechless.

She got up to pour some water, then placed an extra pillow behind his head and carefully fed him, one sip at a time.
