“Alright, let’s head back,” Thalia said.

Dax nodded and trailed after her.

Ryan rushed to the hospital and saw Darion looking deathly pale. “Mr. Blackburn, are you seriously hurt?”

Darion replied with a cool tone, “Not dead yet.”

Ryan couldn’t help but mutter, “But if you keep going like this, you won’t last much longer.”

Darion shot him a frosty glare. “Is that what you’re hoping for?”

Ryan chuckled. “No, no, just kidding. I had my men nab one of the guys who didn’t get away. Checked his background. Turns out he’s with the Falcon Syndicate.”

The Falcon Syndicate was an infamous mercenary group from overseas.

They’ll take on any job you throw at them.

If the price is high enough, there’s nothing they won’t do.

Darion’s eyes grew darker. “Get in touch with Ethan Doyle. Tell the Falcon Syndicate they’re not allowed to take any assassination jobs against Thalia.”

Ryan nodded. “Got it.”

Then he added, “Mr. Doyle might ask for something over the top again. Are you going to agree?”

Darion closed his eyes. “Let him talk to me directly. I’ll see what kind of demands he comes up with.”

Ryan replied, “Yes, sir.”

Darion asked again, “Who hired the Falcon Syndicate? Who’s behind this?”

Ryan looked uneasy. “Mr. Blackburn, that’s almost impossible to dig up. It’s an ironclad rule. No one ever dares to give up the employer’s name.”

If you ever reveal who hired you, your whole business is finished.

Darion let out a cold laugh. “Don’t they only care about money? Bring the Falcon Syndicate’s boss to Oakwood.”

“Yes, sir,” Ryan replied.

On the way back, Thalia kept wondering how she was supposed to tell Diana about all this.

If she brought this up, what about all those other incidents before?

Chapter 387

Diana was sharp. She’d definitely notice something was off.

Thalia sighed quietly, unable to help herself.

Dax glanced at her and asked, “Ms. Coleman, what’s wrong?”

Thalia replied, “I’m just trying to figure out how to keep this from Diana.”

Dax blinked in surprise. “You’re worried she’ll be anxious?”

“Yeah,” Thalia nodded. “She’s not young anymore. If she finds out about all this, it’ll really freak her out.”

Dax grinned. “Ms. Coleman, you might not realize it, but Diana’s got more guts than you think.”

Thalia blinked in surprise. “Really?”

Dax nodded. “Last time she got taken away, she kept her cool the whole time, like nothing could faze her.”

Thalia thought it over. ‘Now that I think about it, that’s true.

Dax said, “If you’re really worried, just tell her you hit Darion with your car, so now you have to take care of him for a while.”

“That’s a great idea!” Thalia’s eyes lit up. “Let’s use that!”
