Thalia gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles turned white. For a moment, she almost thought Darion had sent her that text.
‘But why would he do that?’ she wondered.
When they talked about the deal today, he could’ve just refused the divorce.
For her own safety, she probably would’ve agreed anyway.
‘So, who sent me this message?
‘Whoever it was, they were definitely someone in the know, she thought.
She tried calling the number, but it was already out of service.
‘Are the people after me actually scared of Darion?
‘If that’s not it, then why would this mysterious person send me such a warning?’ she thought.
She remembered how she’d sounded out Matthew Evans and Sebastian Flynn before.
She’d already tested Matthew, so next up is Sebastian.
Thalia deleted the text and immediately lay down to sleep.
The next day, she printed out a divorce agreement, double-checked the terms, and took it straight to the hospital.
After a night of rest, Darion was looking much better.
She pulled out the divorce papers and handed them to him.
Darion took it and started reading carefully.
After a moment, he looked up at her. “You’re not asking for half my assets?”
Thalia raised an eyebrow. “If I did, would you actually give it to me?”
“Not a chance,” Darion replied flatly.
Darion said without hesitation.
He immediately picked up a pen and signed at the bottom.
His decisiveness actually caught her off guard.
It made her realize just how determined he was. He really wanted this marriage to be over.
‘That’s fine by me. Thalia thought.
She put the divorce papers away and said, “Once everything’s over, we’ll get married again.”

“Okay,” Darion replied.
Darion didn’t have any objections.

After breakfast, Darion took care of some business for the company. He glanced over at Thalia, who was sitting on the couch.
Then he closed the file and said, “I want to take a shower.”
Thalia froze, then shot him a glare. “Your wounds aren’t healed yet. No showers for you.”
But Darion said, “I stink of blood and disinfectant. It’s disgusting. I can’t stand it.”
He gave her a long, meaningful look. “You promised to take care of me. Now you’re just making excuses?”
Thalia felt utterly speechless.
Without any expression, she got up, went to the bathroom, and came back carrying a basin with a towel inside.
She set the basin down, gave him a look, and said, “Take off your shirt.”
Darion paused, a little stunned. “What are you doing?”
Thalia said, “You can’t shower, but I can clean you up a bit. Just a quick wipe-down, nothing fancy.”
