Darion, sensing she was about to refuse, fixed her with a frosty look and said, “If you say no again, I’ll drag you there myself. My wounds aren’t healed yet, so if I do, they’ll probably tear open. Then you’ll have to stay and look after me for even longer. Is that what you want?”
Thalia closed her mouth, shot him a conflicted glance, and went with the nurse for her exam.
Darion shot Dax a message, telling him to come in.
Dax didn’t fully step inside. He just stood at the doorway, looking impatient. “What do you want?”
Darion fixed him with a cold stare. “Did you keep her safe?”
Dax instantly felt a wave of pressure wash over him, making his spine go rigid for no reason. He knew he was in the wrong, so he rubbed his nose and stepped inside.
“Yeah, something unexpected happened today,” Dax said.
He filled Darion in on everything that had happened.
Then, with a puzzled frown, he said, “I’ve met Sebastian a few times. He didn’t seem like that kind of guy.”
Darion’s handsome face stayed cold. “Looks can be deceiving.”
Dax glanced at him and nodded. “You’re right.”
Darion gave him a cold, dismissive look. “Get out.”
Dax let out a cold snort and turned, striding out of the room.
Darion stared out the window, turning the whole thing over in his mind. Sebastian really didn’t seem like the type to pull something like this.
After all, it was just way too stupid.
And this time, it was nothing like the previous incidents. The guy wasn’t some foreign mercenary, and his methods were sloppy, not professional at all.
‘So, who set Sebastian up to take the fall?’ Darion wondered.

Thalia soon returned from her check-up, and the tests showed she was perfectly fine.
Back in the hospital room, a trace of weariness lingered between her brows.
Darion’s gaze landed on her face. “Did you rinse off with cold water?”
Thalia shot him a surprised look. “How did you know?”
Darion said calmly, “You didn’t come to me, so rinsing off with cold water was the only thing you’d do.”

Chapter 393
Thalia scoffed lightly. “Wow, you’re so confident. Just because I didn’t come to you, who says I couldn’t have gone to someone else?”
“You wouldn’t.” Darion replied, dead certain. “You think all those other guys are filthy.”
Thalia looked him up and down and said, “You’re just as dirty.”
“I’m not dirty,” Darion retorted.
His face grew unusually serious. “I’ve never been with anyone but you.”
Thalia just looked at him, clearly not buying it, and waved her hand dismissively. “Whatever.”
“How is it ‘whatever’?” Darion challenged, getting serious. “I’ve never been with any other woman, but you keep throwing girls at me.”
