Sebastian Flynn pushed up his glasses, the lenses hiding the glint in his eyes. He lowered his gaze and nodded. “Alright, since it’s not a good time for you, we’ll put the studio stuff aside for now. I’ll hang onto the project. Whenever you’re ready, just come find me.”
Thalia Coleman replied, “You really don’t have to hold onto it. If I ever want to do it again, we can just make new plans.”
“No way,” Sebastian said with a small smile. “If I keep the project around, it’ll stay on your mind. If we drop it completely, you might never think about coming back.”
There was something deeper behind his words.
But Thalia didn’t notice. She just picked up her water glass and took a sip.
Sebastian stood up. “If you ever need anything, just tell me. I’ll help you however I can.”
Thalia smiled softly at him. “Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.”
“No problem,” Sebastian replied.
He turned and walked out of the study.
Thalia walked him out, and when she turned back, she found Diana lost in thought.
“Diana, what’s wrong?” Thalia asked, her brows furrowed in confusion as she walked over.
Diana took her hand and asked, “Thalia, are you deliberately distancing yourself from Sebastian?”
Thalia’s eyes flickered. “Not at all, that’s not true.”
Diana studied her closely. “Really? Am I just imagining things?”
“Diana, you must be imagining things. Sebastian and I are just friends. Isn’t it normal for friends to have some space? Getting too close isn’t good for either of us,” Thalia said.
Diana wasn’t ready to let it go. “Are you sure you don’t have any feelings for him?”
Thalia shook her head honestly. “Really, I don’t. Please don’t try to set us up. It’s just going to make things weird for both of us.”
“Alright, I get it,” Diana said, nodding and dropping the subject.
Thalia hung out with Diana, watched some TV, and then went to shower and crash for the night.
Three days later, Darion was discharged from the hospital and returned to Rosewood Manor to recover.
It had been months since Thalia last set foot here, and walking in now felt almost surreal, like she was stepping into a whole new world.
Darion said coolly, “You’ll be staying in the guest room.”

Thalia shot him a look. “Do you seriously think I’d want the master bedroom?”
“So, guest room for you,” Darion replied.

Thalia was speechless.
‘Can’t he tell I’m being sarcastic?’ Thalia thought, rolling her eyes.
She went to the guest room. The place was simple, but everything she needed was there. The bed was made, and all the toiletries were fully stocked.
Thalia took a quick look around, then went straight to find Darion. “Have you started looking into it yet?” she asked.
Darion was sitting on the living room couch, scrolling through documents on his tablet. He glanced up at her and said, “I just got out of the hospital. How do you expect me to start investigating right now?”
Thalia shot back, “You don’t have to do it yourself. Don’t you have a personal assistant?”
