Chapter 40 Go Ask Darion
Thalia stood up as she soothed, “Mrs. Adkins, please don’t worry. Give me some time. I’ll go ask him.”
Wendy’s mom replied, “Alright, go ask him. If we did something wrong, tell him to let us know directly. We’ll apologize, sincerely.”
After hanging up, Thalia stormed toward the hospital.
But when she burst into Darion’s hospital room, it was empty.
Just then, a caregiver walked in. Thalia’s voice was icy as she demanded, “Where’s Darion?”
The caregiver flinched, clearly intimidated by her cold, intense gaze, and stammered, “I… I truly don’t know.”
Thalia took a sharp breath to clam herself down, then turned and walked out.
Sandra’s ward was nearby. As Thalia stood at the doorway, she saw Darion inside.
Miya and Keith were by the bed, chatting softly, while Sandra smiled brightly, the room overflowing with warmth.
Thalia dug her nails deep into her palms.
The pain helped her stay calm and clear-headed, and in that moment, she saw Darion for what he truly was: shameless, despicable, and utterly indifferent to the pain he was causing her and the people she loved.
Thalia pushed open the door and snapped, “Darion, come out.”
“How dare you!” Sandra’s smile disappeared in a flash.
“Don’t you forget your place? I’ve been in the hospital for days, and you haven’t visited me once. Darion was in a coma, and you didn’t even come to look after him. What are you trying to do?”
“I want to blow your mind,” Thalia said, arms crossed. “So, what do you think? Isn’t that impressive?”
“You…” Sandra was livid at Thalia’s blatant disrespect, her face turning ashen with rage.
Darion strode over and gripped Thalia’s shoulder. “How can you speak to Grandma like that?”
Thalia gave him a scornful glare. “That’s just the start. You haven’t heard the worst part yet.”
Darion’s gaze was cold and intense as he asked, “What do you want?”
Thalia spun around and stormed out. The sight of Miya, pretending to be caring by the bed, and Sandra’s self- righteous glare made her sick to her stomach.
Darion turned to Sandra and said, “Grandma, please get some rest. I’ll be back soon.”
Sandra’s aged face was set in a stern frown. “You need to straighten her out, Darion. She’s rude to her elders and has no regard for family. She can’t keep acting like that.”
Darion’s face darkened further. He said nothing, just turned and walked out.
Sandra let out a heavy sigh. “Such misbehavior. I wish Emely were still here.”
Miya lowered her gaze, her voice gentle and calculating. “Sandra, Thalia has been causing trouble lately, and Darion is caught in the middle, suffering the most. Please don’t push him.”
Sandra sighed, “We’re cursed with such bad luck. I should never have let my guard down and agreed to their marriage. Now this messy divorce is ruining the Blackburn family’s reputation. When have we ever been dragged into such a shameful scandal?”

They went back to Darion’s hospital room.
Thalia turned to him, her sharp gaze locked onto him. “Why are you targeting Wendy?”
Darion’s brows furrowed. “I’m not. Stop making accusations.”
“Liar! You’re still lying to me!” Thalia’s voice shook, her eyes rimmed with tears. “Wendy’s mom already told

me everything. You sent people after their family, and now they have to shut down their business.
“Darion, if you’re mad at me, fight me! Take your anger out on me, not my friend! What kind of monster hurts innocent people? Are you even human?”
Every word was an accusation, and in Thalia’s mind, Darion had already become the kind of man who lashed out at the innocent whenever his temper flared.
Darion’s handsome face darkened instantly as he stared at her, bristling with hostility and an icy gaze.
Suddenly, he leaned over her, his hands pinning her down, his body pressing against hers. “Fine, I’ll take it out on you.”
Then, his lips crashed down on hers in a fierce kiss.
