Trenton nodded eagerly. “Vicky’s right. She should be the one to find my real daughter.”
But Shyla shook her head. “That’s not right. She’s already so disappointed in us…”
“Shyla,” Trenton sighed, looking at her. “Think about Isabella. She trusted us with Miya, but we let her down. Now Miya’s missing, and it’s all because of Thalia. Shouldn’t she do something to make it right?”
Shyla’s lips trembled, but she didn’t say no.
Honestly, she thought Trenton had a point.
If Thalia had just behaved herself, Miya wouldn’t have been hurt so many times.
And now, Miya was missing.
Shyla had only gotten so sick because she found out Miya was missing.
Deep down, she couldn’t help but blame Thalia for all of this.
She’d only wanted to patch things up with Thalia before because she thought Thalia was her daughter. But now that she knew the truth, she didn’t have to care anymore.
Vicky said, “I’ll help you guys out. Since she’s the one who caused all this, she needs to step up and take responsibility.”

Back at Maplewood Estate, Thalia stayed close to Diana, worried she’d be heartbroken and hoping to comfort her.
Diana’s face showed signs of exhaustion. “Thalia, you don’t need to worry about me. I’ll just take a nap and I’ll be fine.”
Thalia nodded. “Okay.”
As she stepped out of the room, Thalia spotted Darion sitting on the couch. His usual sharp looks seemed a bit pale, his eyes fixed on his phone.
Thalia said, “You don’t have to stay.”
Darion looked up at her. “I’m waiting for you.”
“I’m not leaving tonight,” Thalia said. “I can’t leave Diana here by herself.”
Darion raised an eyebrow. “Then bring Diana back to Rosewood Manor with you.”
“No way,” Thalia said.
She stepped closer and lowered her voice. “Diana doesn’t know anything about what happened before. If we take her to Rosewood Manor, she’ll definitely want to dig into everything.”

Chapter 408
Darion was honestly surprised Thalia hadn’t told Diana anything.

But maybe that was for the best. Diana was old now, and she really couldn’t take any more surprises.
“If you’re not leaving, then neither am I,” Darion said as he leaned back. He winced, probably because he hit his injury.
Thalia frowned. “What do you mean by that?”
Darion replied, “What if something goes wrong here when I’m not around?”
Thalia rolled her eyes at him. “You’re such a jinx!”
Darion lifted his hand, half pleading. “Come on, help me to my room so I can rest. My injury’s killing me.”
Thalia didn’t even bother with him. “You can walk just fine. Your legs aren’t broken.”
“Diana might not know what’s happened, but she’s definitely going to sense something’s wrong. Maybe I should just talk to her about it…” Darion muttered, his eyes fixed on the door to Diana’s room.
Darion’s gaze lingered on the door to Diana’s room as he spoke to himself.
