Chapter 415

“Thalia, I brought breakfast…” Bonnie called out as she pushed open the hospital room door and walked in.

Bonnie stepped inside, holding the breakfast she’d bought.

But when she saw what was happening in the room, she was stunned.

Darion was lying on one side of the bed, and the other side had the covers pulled back, with the obvious mark that someone had slept there.

Thalia’s hair and clothes were a bit messy, and she was still fixing her clothes.

Anyone who saw this would totally get the wrong idea.

Bonnie clenched the plastic bag in her hand, her gaze fell, feeling nervous.

‘Wasn’t he just her friend?’ Bonnie wondered.

‘Then why did they end up sleeping together?’ she thought.

‘Did they… do something last night?’ Bonnie couldn’t help but imagine.

Bonnie’s heart sank all of a sudden.

“Who are you?” Darion demanded, his brows drawing together as he saw the girl suddenly burst in.

He yanked the blanket up to his chin, wrapping himself tightly.

Thalia came back to her senses and explained, “She’s the caregiver I hired. Her name is Bonnie Curtis.”

Bonnie clutched the plastic bag with both hands and dipped her head slightly toward Darion. “Hi.”

Darion shot Thalia a teasing look, his eyes glinting with a half-smile. “So you’re supposed to be taking care of me, but instead you’re slacking off and hiring a caregiver? Is this your idea of looking after someone?”

Thalia felt a bit sheepish. She really did take the easy way out this time.

“I just needed someone to help out with errands and stuff,” she said.

Darion let out a soft scoff, clearly not buying it.

Then he turned to Bonnie and said, “You don’t need to come anymore.”

Bonnie froze, her face drained of color as her eyes darted to Thalia. “Thalia…” she murmured, feeling

awkward.

Thalia knew Darion’s temper. If she insisted any further, there was no telling what he’d do next.

She looked at Bonnie and spoke softly, “Thanks for bringing breakfast. He’s getting discharged today, so we won’t be needing your help anymore.”

Bonnie bit her lip, trying to hold back her disappointment. “Got it.”

Chapter 45

She handed the breakfast to Thalia and said, “I’ll be off then.”

“Okay, you can go now,” Thalia replied gently.

Bonnie walked out, still reluctant to leave.

Standing outside the hospital room, Bonnie’s face was clouded with loneliness and disappointment.

‘Is my feelings really doomed before I even got a chance to get close?’ Bonnie thought, a wave of sadness washing over her.

Darion sat up, his tone casual, “So, you two pretty tight? How’d you get to know each other?”

Thalia pulled out the breakfast, her voice cool as she said, “Why do you care?”

Darion grabbed her wrist and pulled her right up to him, his sharp gaze fixed on her.

“Thalia, don’t forget your situation right now. Are you really going to trust anyone who happens to show up around you? What if she’s a bad person? What if she’s got something shady planned for you? Would you even know if someone meant you harm?”

Suddenly pulled so close, Thalia instinctively braced her hand on his shoulder. She listened to his barrage, pressed her lips together, and said, “Alright, I get it.”

Darion looked her over. “You sure?”
