Darion took a single sip of the porridge before setting it aside. Thalia glanced at him and said, “The doctor will come by for another check-up soon. If everything looks good, you can be discharged.”

“Okay,” Darion replied.

He picked up his phone and started scrolling through his messages.

Thalia finished tidying up the room when her phone rang. She glanced at the screen. It was Diana calling.

“Hi, Diana,” Thalia answered gently.

“How’s everything going?” Diana asked, her voice full of concern.

“Everything’s fine now. He’ll be discharged today,” Thalia replied.

Diana let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good to hear. I was just worried and wanted to check in.”

“Diana, you really don’t need to worry about us. Just rest up and remember to eat your meals,” Thalia said softly.

“Honestly, you don’t have to fuss over me. Debbie and Edith are here, so I’ll be just fine,” Diana replied with a gentle smile.

Thalia responded quietly, then ended the call.

The doctor came by again to check Darion over, confirmed he was all clear, and went over a few things he should keep in mind.

“Wait a second,” Darion suddenly interrupted.

Darion jumped in, cutting the doctor off.

The doctor stared at him with a puzzled look.

Darion glanced at Thalia. “Come over here.”

Thalia raised an eyebrow, a hint of confusion on her face. “What is it?”

She walked over and stood by the bed.

Darion finally looked at the doctor and said, “Let her know it was her fault my wound reopened.”

Thalia was at a loss for words.

She shot him a blank look.

The doctor paused, then turned to her. “Make sure the wound doesn’t reopen, keep it dry, apply the ointment daily, and if you see any redness, take it seriously…”

The doctor gave a long list of instructions, and Thalia kept nodding, taking it all in.

‘Bringing Diana over? Wouldn’t that be weird?’ she thought.

After all, they’d already signed the divorce papers. Once this is over, they’re supposed to go their separate

ways.

‘What if Diana thinks there’s still something between us?’ Thalia worried.

Thalia glanced at him and asked, “Any updates today?”

Darion closed his eyes and replied, “How would I know? I just got out of the hospital.”
