She looked away, walked into the living room, and asked, “Do you need me to get anything ready?”
“No, just come with me,” Darion said in a cool tone.
“Alright,” Thalia replied.
Her heart grew tense.

Once she met this person, she’d finally know who was out to kill her. The mystery that had been haunting her for so long would finally be unraveled.
An inexplicable nervousness washed over her.

Darion had been taking his medicine and tending his wounds on schedule, so his injuries healed up fast. Before she knew it, the day of the meeting had arrived.
Thalia video-called Diana first, just to check that she was still doing alright. Seeing Diana looking stable, Thalia finally felt relieved.
When Thalia stepped out of the room, she saw Darion in a simple white shirt and pants, the top two buttons undone, giving him a laid-back, rebellious vibe.
“Are we heading out now?” Thalia asked.
‘My palms are sweating… I can’t help feeling nervous,’ she thought.
“Yeah,” Darion replied with a nod.
He walked over, looked at her, then took her hand. “Don’t be scared.”
Thalia’s lashes quivered as she gently withdrew her hand. “I’m not scared. It’s just… I’m a bit anxious about finally learning who’s been pulling the strings.”
Her palm felt strangely empty, but she kept her cool, distant demeanor.
Darion calmly slipped his hands into his pockets. “In this kind of situation, you’ll need to cooperate with me a little.”
Thalia glanced up at him, confusion flickering in her eyes. “What do you mean by cooperate?”
“As my date, you need to link your arm with mine. That way, everyone will just assume you’re someone insignificant,” Darion said, raising an eyebrow at her icy attitude.
Thalia’s bright eyes narrowed with suspicion. “Are you for real?”
“He’s a foreigner, and he’s very guarded. If he senses you’re approaching him with a purpose, he won’t be honest with you,” Darion explained.

Thalia still wasn’t convinced.

‘I can’t help but feel like Darion’s laying a trap, just waiting for me to walk right into it, she thought.
Darion turned and walked toward the door, his deep, magnetic voice cool and indifferent. “If you don’t trust me, you’ll miss out on this opportunity.”
Thalia pressed her lips together, then followed him, saying nothing along the way.
When they arrived at Blue Night and got out of the car, she linked her arm with his.
Darion glanced down at her, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk tugging at his lips as he headed inside.
The VIP room was on the sixth floor.
The waiter at the entrance opened the door with a polite bow, and Darion walked in with Thalia by his side.
The VIP room was huge, and there was already a crowd inside.
