Chapter 435
Darion let out a soft snort and said bluntly, “Quinn called me a bunch of times today, asking me to help him find a girl.
“He said she slept with him, then just bailed without taking any responsibility. He wants me to track her down, and he offered me a deal I couldn’t refuse, so here I am.”
After saying that, he glanced at Wendy. There is a hint of amusement flickering across his handsome face. “Quinn’s really into you.”
Wendy’s eyes widened in disbelief. “What are you even saying? I don’t know this guy at all!”
She grabbed Thalia’s hand and blurted out, “Thalia, this scumbag is trying to hand me over! What should I do? Should I call the police right now?”
Darion looked at Thalia with a relaxed confidence, completely unhurried.
He’d already figured it out. Thalia was here because Wendy had called her and told her all about what happened.
Right now, Thalia’s face was a mix of conflicting emotions.
Darion said, “You hooked up with a guy last night. Tall, blue eyes, total halfie.”
Wendy’s eyes grew wider with every word he said.
“His name’s Quinn. He just landed here a few days ago, and for now, he’s stuck in the country,” Darion continued, sounding almost amused. “I’ve got a deal with him. If I hand you over, I get what I want. It’s a sure thing for me.”
“Absolutely not,” Thalia jumped in, her face set with determination as she stared him down.
“You can’t do this,” her voice unwavering.
But Darion just drawled, “Am I allowed a glass of water as your guest, or is that too much to ask?”
Wendy finally understood what was going on.
He was here to put the squeeze on her.
If she didn’t butter him up or keep him happy, he’d hand her over to Quinn without a second thought.
But she had zero interest in ever dealing with that stranger again.
Wendy’s mind was a mess of panic and fear, and her hatred for Darion only grew, damn bastard!
She cursed him out in her head a thousand times, but still, shooting him a dirty look, she grudgingly went to pour him a glass of water.
Thalia’s face was serious. “What terms did you guys agree on?”
Darion replied, “He wouldn’t say who ordered the hit before, but now he’s willing to give up that name in

exchange.”
He shot her a teasing look. “So, Thalia, what’s it gonna be?”
Thalia clenched her fists, her voice cold. “There’s no way I’d ever trade my friend’s happiness for something like that.”
Darion chuckled lightly. “That’s exactly what I expected, so I came to you first, not him.”
Thalia felt herself relax just a little, but she still pressed, “So what are you really after?”
Darion raised his eyebrow. “You think I’m trying to mess with you again?”
“Like you haven’t before?” Thalia shot back, pain and struggle flashing in her clear eyes before she quickly pulled herself together.
Darion’s eyes grew even colder.
Just then, Wendy came over with the glass of water and set it in front of him. She pressed her lips together
and said.
“I don’t care what deal you two made, Darion. I won’t call you names anymore, and I’ll try to avoid you as much as I can. Just promise me you won’t let him know who I am.”
She’d thought it through. Anyone who hangs out with Darion is probably a jerk anyway. So she needed to stay away. ‘It was just one chaotic night, nothing more,’ she told herself. Eventually, time will make it all fade away!’
Darion took a sip from his glass, sounding totally unbothered. “Go ahead and make up the guest room. If she’s staying, then I’m not going anywhere either.”
