I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 437

Chapter 437

Thalia’s voice was strained as she said, “Does it really matter?”

She didn’t want to go over it again. It just made her feel like a total fool.

“It matters,” Darion said, his eyes burning into hers.

“I need to know. Did you already know me back then, or…”

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he forced the words out. “Or was it because of someone else?”

Thalia clenched the cotton swab in her hand, her gaze dropping as she saw Darion’s relentless need for answers. A bitter smile flickered across her lips.

“Eight years together, and you still question how I feel about you?” Thalia said quietly.

“Darion, can we just stop obsessing over the past? The more we dig, the more those eight years feel like nothing but a bad joke.”

Thalia had told Darion before. She’d met him before the earthquake, fallen for him at first sight, and saved him simply because she couldn’t help herself.

When they got to college, she confessed her feelings, and they naturally ended up together.

But now, after everything they’d been through, he still doubted her heart.

‘Ridiculous, Thalia thought.

Darion pulled her closer, his grip tightening. “How could it be a joke? We spent years together. There were so many good times. Before things fell apart, we really loved each other.”

“That’s just your perspective,” Thalia replied, her voice calm. “Looking back, all that so-called love was just me compromising for you. I gave up my chance to study abroad just to marry you, and your family constantly criticized me. Honestly, I regret it.”

Darion pressed his lips together tightly, remembering the day they both knelt at the Blackburn family’s old house, pleading with Sandra to approve their marriage. His Adam’s apple bobbed heavily.

He lowered his gaze, resting his forehead against her. “If you’re denying what we had, then the reasons 1 hid things from you don’t really matter anymore.”

Thalia pushed him away. “Should I put the medicine on or not?”

Darion let go of her, and neither of them said another word.

The air felt icy and suffocating, making it hard to breathe.

Thalia finished applying the medicine and turned to leave.

But Darion stopped her. “Stay.”

Thalia froze, then turned back to him. “You didn’t come here for nothing. What are you really after?”

Darion smirked, his eyes full of mockery. “Would you go to any lengths for your friend?”

Thalia clenched her fists. “Out with it. What do you want?”

“I haven’t decided yet,” Darion said as he buttoned up his shirt, his cool and casual demeanor settling back in. “Once I figure it out, I’ll let you know.”

Thalia withdrew her gaze, opened the guest room door, and walked out.

“Thalia, you don’t look so good. Did he upset you?” Wendy’s voice was full of concern from outside the door.

Wendy’s voice was full of concern from outside the door.

Thalia shook her head. “I’m okay, really. Don’t worry.”

Wendy tugged Thalia along. “You’re bunking with me tonight. No way he’s going to go all beast mode and drag you out of my room. I’ll make sure the door’s locked tight.”

Thalia was both amused and helpless. “Alright, then you have to be my bodyguard.”

“You bet I will!” Wendy grinned..
