Chapter 443
Darion’s dark, piercing eyes fixed on her. “Did you forget what I told you before? I dug into his background. Something’s off about him. How can you still think it’s just a coincidence?”
Thalia dropped her gaze, not saying a word for a while.
“Keith, did you finish filming?” Darion asked.
He looked at the child, his tone casual.
Keith nodded. “Yeah, I got a lot. Darry, take a look.”
He ran over and handed his phone to Darion.

Darion scrolled through the photos, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Not bad at all. As a reward, you don’t have to do your homework tonight.”
“I can still do my homework,” Keith said seriously. “Can I have a different reward instead?”
Darion looked at him in surprise. “What kind of reward do you want?”
Keith looked a little shy, but still said, “I want you to come home every day, Darry.”
He was just a little kid. At kindergarten, he had friends to hang out with, but back at the family estate, it was only the staff and Jadiel Pratt, no other family around.
He still missed his mom, but no matter how much he wished, she never came back. So he started longing for Darry instead, at least Darry was always around.
Seeing the nervous look in Keith’s eyes, something in Darion’s heart melted. “Alright, I promise.”
Keith’s face lit up with a big smile, but then he paused, glancing shyly at Thalia. “Can you and Darry both come home together?”
Thalia looked at him with a calm expression. “If you don’t like me, you don’t have to pretend.”
“No, that’s not it,” Keith said, shaking his head. “I don’t dislike you.”
He blinked at her. “You’re the one who doesn’t like me.”
Thalia was at a loss for words.
She gave him a conflicted look.
Darion said, “If even a kid can see through you, your acting really needs some serious improvement.”
Thalia asked, “Do you have any other ideas? Are we just going to sit around and do nothing?”
Darion said, “Set up a meeting with him and just ask him for help directly.”
Thalia hesitated. “Do you really think that’ll work?”

Darion replied coolly, “We won’t know until we try.”

A shadow flickered in his eyes. ‘Is Matthew Evans really the one? This test will give us the answer, he thought.
Thalia got up, walked over to the window, and called Matthew Evans.
After three rings, he answered.
“Hey, Thalia,” Matthew said.
Thalia sounded really upset. “Matthew, something happened over here.”
Matthew instantly sounded worried. “What happened? Did Darion mess with you again? What did he do this time?”
Thalia’s eyes flickered as she listened to him. It suddenly hit her. Every time she talked to Matthew, it always came back to how Darion had hurt her.
But thinking about it now, was that really true?
Yeah, Darion had done some things wrong, but he’d also risked his life for her more than once.
Thalia sensed something was off, but quickly shoved the doubt aside. “No, it’s not that. It’s Diana. Shyla Mcgee conspired with outsiders to poison her.
“They’re threatening me: if I don’t find Miya Coleman, Diana’s life is at stake. But Miya’s disappeared. Where am I supposed to find her?”
As she spoke, her voice shook, as if she was on the verge of falling apart.
“Don’t worry,” Matthew said, his tone turning grave. “Where are you right now? I’ll come find you and we can talk face to face.”
Thalia replied, “I really don’t know what else to do. Darion doesn’t care about me anymore. He’s already agreed to the divorce. You’re the only one who can help me now.”
